Auria
Every college department is currently busy with their own pakulo for this year's welcome week.
As for the college of business administration where I'm a part of, we were assigned to form several groups to put up booths and fun activities for our fellow schoolmates.
I was also a part of the organizing team for the BSBA department last year. Yup, I'm that overachiever, leader student. Wala rin naman kasi akong gagawin sa bahay kaya heto, inuubos ko ang oras ko sa academic stuff.
"Auria, meeting tayo for the booths later?" Allissa, one of the head organizers for our department reminded me.
"Sure! Pwede raw nating gamitin ang room 421. After lunch?" I suggested.
She raised a thumbs up in mid air. "Okay 'yun! Sige, see you later!" she said. "Mga organizers!!! Meeting mamaya!" pahabol niyang sigaw bago lumabas.
While I was putting away my binder and pens into my bag, someone tapped my shoulder from behind.
"Yes?" I asked as I turned my head to see who it was.
Si Rafael pala.
"Ano 'yung meron sa mga booths? Welcome week?" he curiously asked as he sat on the empty chair next to mine.
"Ah! That's an event na this school holds kapag nagsisimula ang academic year, para you know, we can have a week to ourselves na makapagsaya bago tayo pahirapan ng mga profs." I winked playfully.
He chuckled warmly with my banter.
"Can I join? I mean, kung kailangan niyo pa ng tulong. If not, it's totally--"
I immediately cut him off to give him a positive answer. "Yes, of course! We could always use extra help. Same ba tayo ng susunod na class?"
He nodded happily. "Yes, kay Prof Tanchangco ka rin, right?"
His smile is contagious. I didn't realize na nakangiti na rin pala ako.
"Yup! Sabay na tayo?" aya ko.
Wala naman si Amelie, absent. Ewan ko ba sa babaeng 'yon kung anong pinagkakabusyhan niya.
"Sure. Tara?"
We exited the room together, and chitchatted about random things as we go along the way.

"Bale inform na lang natin ang isa't isa about sa progress ng plans of every booth groups ha, para transparent and hindi tayo magkagulo gulo. Nga pala, with regards sa groups, kayo na ang bahala kung sino sino ang kasama niyo, malalaki naman na kayo," Allissa spoke while erasing the agenda from the chalk board.
Magkatabi kami ni Rafael at sinisiko niya ako kaya tinignan ko siya.
"Sali na lang ako sa group niyo ni Amelie ha," bulong niya.
I leaned sideways and discreetly whispered, "Oo naman, you're with us na, don't worry."
He flashed his signature smile that's why it prompted me to do the same. Nakakahawa nga kasi!
Our attentions were caught when Allissa clapped her hands. "Alright, that's it for today's agenda. Sa mga hindi naka-attend na member ng organizing team, just give them a copy of the minutes of the meeting. If wala nang question, meeting adjourned."
We gathered our belongings before leaving the room. Everyone went their separate ways, except for me and Rafael.
"May klase ka pa ba?" tanong niya pagkalabas namin.
