Time flew by in a blink of an eye, and before we knew it, it was already the week before midterms.
Students are engrossed in their own little worlds, their noses buried in their textbooks. Everyone is in a hurry to complete their remaining tasks before the midterm exams which is why it's such a busy period for all of us.
Piles of books are resting beside me in the library as I was reviewing for our accounting subject. It's a good thing that I could grasp the concepts already, unlike last semester when I was so clueless of things. Study sessions with Amelie and Rafael seem to be working out good pala.
In the midst of my intensive studying, I felt someone's presence behind me, startling me a bit.
"Hey, kanina ka pa?" that handsome, familiar voice whispered in my left ear.
I already smiled without knowing who was behind me because I'm a hundred percent certain who that is.
"Yup," I replied.
I heard him chuckle as he placed a paper bag on the desk, beside my books.
"What's that?" I whispered.
"Your favorite fast food. Wanna take a break muna? Labas tayo para makakain ka."
That's when I turned my head to my left side, instantly met with Rafael's face which was inches away.
He was grinning from ear to ear, looking good with his well kept hair.
"I need to review," I giggled.
He reached his hands out from behind, slightly caging me in my seat, then he closed the pages of the book that I was reading. "You need fuel for reviewing. Rereview-hin kita sa labas habang kumakain ka, if you want."
The librarian walked towards us, quick to notice our quiet conversation. "This is a library. Sa labas kayo magkwentuhan!" she hissed.
Rafael gathered my books and I helped to clear up the table before we headed out, discreetly laughing at the librarian's usual strict demeanor.
It was hard to find a quiet place in the campus, but it's a good thing that I've been in this uni long enough to know a few places where we can go.
Near the open area where we held the welcome week, is a hidden garden with a few benches under the shade of tall trees. It was deemed as a 'hidden garden' because it was actually supposed to be a spot for students to relax during their vacant, or to eat during breaks, but a college building was built in front of it, and soon later, another one beside it, hiding it from the rest of the campus.
Though hidden, it was still kept well and maintained by the school. And because of the fact that our whole campus is elevated, we have a good view of the outside, from the garden.
"Ang ganda dito," Rafael commented when we got to the place that I was telling him about.
It was significantly quiet, with only a few people around. Some are deep into reading their books, and a few just hanging out, to kill time, maybe.
"Dito, tahimik, saka pwede tayong magreview," I told him as I was setting down my bag on the wooden bench.
"Bakit nga pala pumasok ka? May class ka ba?" he asked after sitting beside me.
"Wala naman, pumasok lang para magreview. Sabi mo kasi, may class ka kaya pumasok na rin ako. Saka boring sa bahay, nakakabingi 'yung katahimikan," I explained to him.
My stomach was grumbling already so I reached for the paper bag and I peeked inside to check kasi ang laki laki! Parang ang daming binili.
"Tapos naman na ang klase ko. You still want to stay here? Or we can go someplace else if you want? Your house, my house? Amelie's house? Gulatin natin?"
