✨First Day, First Encounter✨
Riyanshi clutched her schedule, her hands trembling slightly. It was her first day at the prestigious Seoul International University, and though she had dreamt of this moment, the reality of being in a completely foreign environment made her more anxious than she expected.
"Locker... locker..." she murmured under her breath, scanning the hallway for the right number. As she turned a corner, she suddenly collided with someone.
"Oh! I'm so sorry," Riyanshi apologized quickly, backing away.
The girl she bumped into smiled warmly. "No worries! First day?"
Riyanshi nodded, her nerves showing. "Yeah, I'm kinda lost. I don't even know where my locker is."
The girl chuckled softly. "It's easy to get lost here. I'm Hana, by the way." She pointed down the hallway. "I know this place inside out. Finished my undergrad here, and now I'm back for grad school. Let me help you."
"Thank you, I'm Riyanshi." She let out a small sigh of relief, grateful for Hana's kind demeanor.
As they started walking together, Hana shot Riyanshi a curious look. "So, where are you from? You're definitely not from around here."
Riyanshi smiled, already used to that question. "I'm from India."
Hana's eyes widened in interest. "Wow, that's pretty far! What made you choose this university?"
"Well, I've always wanted to study abroad, and Seoul International has one of the best programs for what I'm looking for," Riyanshi explained. "Plus, I wanted to experience a new culture."
"Good choice," Hana nodded approvingly. "This place can be a lot to handle at first, but you'll get used to it. And hey, if you ever feel lost, just ask me."
Riyanshi smiled, feeling a little more comfortable. "That's really sweet of you. By the way, what's your major?"
"Same as yours, I think!" Hana beamed. "We're in the same class."
"Really? That's a relief," Riyanshi said, her nerves calming a little. "At least I won't be completely alone."
Hana chuckled. "Trust me, I'll show you around, no worries. You'll be fine."
As they continued walking, Hana pointed out parts of the campus. "That's the main hall where most events happen. Over there is the library, and... oh, you're gonna love the coffee shop on the corner."
"Good to know. It seems like a huge campus."
"It is, but you'll figure it out. Everyone does."
Suddenly, a commotion ahead caught their attention. A crowd was forming in the corridor, blocking their path.
"What's going on?" Riyanshi asked, frowning.
Hana craned her neck, trying to see over the crowd. "Ah, of course. That's Jungkook. He's always in the middle of some fight."
"Fight?" Riyanshi's eyes widened.
"Yeah," Hana sighed, rolling her eyes. "The boys are scared of him, and the girls practically drool over him. He's got this reputation-football captain, top student, bad boy image. Total heartthrob, if you're into that."
They pushed their way through the crowd to get a better view. At the center, Jungkook was gripping another student by the collar, his expression cold and menacing. The crowd buzzed with excitement, some filming with their phones while others whispered about what had triggered the confrontation.
Jungkook pulled back his fist, ready to strike. Riyanshi's heart pounded in her chest, and without thinking, she shouted, "Stop!"
The entire corridor fell silent. Heads turned, and all eyes locked onto Riyanshi, including Jungkook's.
His gaze was piercing, and for a moment, Riyanshi felt frozen under his intense stare. Jungkook's hand lowered, his fist unclenching as his dark eyes studied her, the anger in his face shifting to something else-curiosity, maybe even admiration.
Time seemed to stop as they made eye contact, his attention fixed solely on her. His expression softened, just slightly, as if her voice had cut through whatever rage he was feeling.
Hana tugged on Riyanshi's sleeve. "Uh, maybe we should go..." she whispered.
Riyanshi's face burned with embarrassment as she realized the crowd was staring at her too. She quickly looked away from Jungkook and, without another word, she and Hana slipped through the crowd, hurrying down the hallway.
"What were you thinking?" Hana hissed as they rounded the corner, both of them catching their breath.
"I... I don't know," Riyanshi stammered. "It was instinct."
Hana shook her head, smiling slightly. "You've got guts, I'll give you that. No one ever stands up to Jungkook. They just watch or stay out of his way. But I gotta warn you, he's not the type to forget something like this."
Riyanshi bit her lip. The last thing she wanted was to attract attention, especially not from someone like Jungkook. She had just wanted a normal, peaceful day at her new university, but somehow, she had gotten tangled up in the middle of a fight-and worse, she had caught the attention of the one guy everyone else seemed to avoid.
