✨Running to him✨
As Riyanshi and Hana made their way to their first class, the early morning air still held a slight chill. It was an 8 AM extra class, and most of the students were barely awake, their faces groggy. Just as they were about to enter the building, Jungkook appeared out of nowhere, handing a neatly packed breakfast to Riyanshi.
"Here," he said, thrusting the food into her hands casually.
Riyanshi blinked, surprised. “What’s this?”
“Breakfast,” he shrugged, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “I figured you didn’t eat since it’s an early class.”
Riyanshi quickly shook her head, pushing the breakfast back. “I don’t need it. You don’t have to do things for me, Jungkook. I don’t want to owe you anything.”
Jungkook simply smiled, not taking the breakfast back. “You don’t owe me anything. Just give me your time.” His voice was casual, but there was an underlying tone that made her heart race slightly.
Riyanshi coughed, clearly flustered. “You’re impossible, you know that?”
He smirked. “By the way, we’ve got a football tournament today. Against another college.”
Riyanshi raised an eyebrow. “Seriously? Yesterday we had the induction event, and today a tournament? Doesn’t this college ever have a break?”
Jungkook grinned. “What can I say? We’re competitive. And, by the way, I’m the captain of our college team. You should come and cheer me on.”
Riyanshi scoffed, pretending to be unimpressed. “Captain, huh? I guess I forgot that part.”
He chuckled. “So, will you come?”
“I don’t know,” she replied playfully, brushing off the question. “I’ve got assignments to finish.”
Jungkook leaned in a little closer, teasing her. “Come on, Riyanshi. You know you want to.”
Riyanshi rolled her eyes, her heart skipping a beat. “Maybe... If I feel like it.”
Just then, Hana, who had been walking quietly beside them, nudged Riyanshi with her elbow, giving her a teasing look. Riyanshi shot her a warning glance, but it was too late. The teasing had begun.
As they entered the class, Riyanshi could hear whispers among the students. She caught snippets of their conversations—talk of how Jungkook had smiled during the award ceremony yesterday and how it was the first time anyone had seen him genuinely happy since joining the college. Rumors about their so-called "relationship" were already spreading like wildfire.
Riyanshi shook her head, determined to ignore it all. As much as she hated the gossip, a small part of her wondered if maybe... just maybe, Jungkook wasn’t as dangerous as she had once thought. Perhaps he was just misunderstood.
---
Later, in the cafeteria, Riyanshi and Hana sat down to eat. Hana immediately brought up the topic of Jungkook.
“So,” Hana started, her eyes twinkling mischievously, “Jungkook, huh? He’s really not what people say he is, is he?”
Riyanshi sighed, poking at her food. “He’s not dangerous. He’s just... complicated.”
Just as she said that, Jungkook appeared once again, this time holding a tray of food. He walked up to their table with that familiar smirk and asked, “Mind if I sit with you?”
Riyanshi, ever the playful one, pretended to think it over before shaking her head. “I guess you can.”
Jungkook chuckled, sliding into the seat next to her. They chatted for a while, Jungkook reminding Riyanshi once again to come to the football match. She continued to act nonchalant about it, but there was a part of her that was curious to see him in action as captain.
---
After lunch, and by almost evening, the college buzzed with excitement for the big football match. Riyanshi found herself in the library, grabbing a few books she needed for her assignments, when she was approached by Hinjun—the same guy who had caused trouble before.
“Hey,” Hinjun said, his voice low and predatory. “Remember me?”
Riyanshi’s heart skipped a beat. She immediately felt uneasy. “I’m not interested,” she said firmly, trying to walk away.
But Hinjun stepped in front of her, his expression darkening. “You think you can just walk away after what your boyfriend did to me? You owe me.”
Before she could react, Hinjun grabbed her arm, pulling her closer. “Don’t think Jungkook’s here to save you this time.”
Riyanshi’s instincts kicked in. She pushed him away and ran, but Hinjun chased after her. In her panic, she tripped and fell, her knee hitting the ground hard. She hissed in pain but didn’t stop, forcing herself up and running toward the football field where Jungkook was practicing.
She could see him in the distance, his figure tall and focused. “Jungkook!” she cried out, her voice trembling.
Jungkook’s head snapped up. The moment he saw her running toward him, followed by Hinjun, his face darkened with fury. As Riyanshi collided into him, hugging him tightly in fear, Jungkook wrapped his arms around her protectively. His voice was low, but filled with rage. “What did he do to you?”
