✨Curiosity and Caution✨

Riyanshi leaned against the cool metal of her locker, the sound of laughter and chatter slowly fading into the background as her classmates drifted away to their next classes. The atmosphere felt unusually quiet now, and she couldn't shake off the nervousness from her first day. Just as she was organizing her books, Hana had mentioned that she might leave early because she was feeling under the weather.

"I'll catch up with you later, Riyanshi! Don't let Jungkook get to you!" Hana had said with a wink, but it only added to her anxiety. She tried to ignore the warning, but the rumors about Jungkook echoed in her mind-how he was someone not to be trifled with, a boy who had everyone scared and entranced at the same time.

As she closed her locker door, she glanced down the nearly empty corridor. Just ten or so students were scattered about, and the earlier buzz of excitement seemed like a distant memory. Taking a deep breath, she told herself she was safe, that she wouldn't run into him.

But as she turned to leave, her heart dropped.

Standing right next to her locker was Jungkook, his intense gaze fixed on her. The way he leaned casually against the wall made him look almost regal, but there was an undeniable intensity in his eyes that made her skin prickle. "Hi, Riyanshi," he said, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "Nice to have you here in our college."

She blinked in surprise. How did he know her name? It wasn't like she had introduced herself to anyone other than Hana and a couple of others. Panic bubbled in her chest, and she remembered Hana's warning all too clearly.

"Uh... hi," she managed, keeping her distance. "What do you want?"

He stepped closer, the confidence radiating off him making it hard to think straight. "I like to know about the new faces around here," he replied smoothly, leaning in as if he shared a secret.

"How do you know my name?" she asked, her voice faltering.

"Someone like me can know everything about a person if he's interested," he said, his gaze steady.

Riyanshi's heart raced, both from his words and the way he was looking at her-like she was something intriguing to be dissected. "Why are you interested in me?" she asked, her voice firmer than she felt. "I barely even know you."

"Yet here you are," he said, his voice low and smooth, "talking to me. That must mean something."

He paused, his expression shifting slightly as if recalling something. "And by the way, nice shout back there. I didn't expect someone to step in when I was about to punch that guy. Not many people have the guts to do that."

Her cheeks flushed, remembering how she had yelled for him to stop. "It was just a reflex," she retorted, crossing her arms. "You don't have to make a big deal out of it."

"Reflex or not, it was impressive," he said, his smirk widening. "But you should be careful. It's not wise to get involved with someone like me."

Riyanshi frowned, feeling a mix of irritation and intrigue. "What do you mean by that?"

He stepped back slightly, a playful glint in his eye. "Let's just say my world isn't exactly safe, and I wouldn't want you getting hurt."

"Leave me alone, Jungkook. Don't interfere with me." Her voice was steady, but inside, her heart was pounding like a drum.

Without waiting for a response, she turned on her heel and hurried down the corridor, her footsteps echoing against the walls. She could feel his gaze on her, a weight that made her skin crawl. What was it about him that both scared and fascinated her?

As she reached the exit, she glanced back, half-expecting him to follow her. But there was only the empty hallway behind her. The weight of the moment hung in the air, and she hurried out into the evening, feeling a mix of relief and lingering tension.

What had she gotten herself into?
