✨Midnight surprise✨
The celebration continued as both families left the university, excited for the feast ahead. Riya's parents, having experienced the ceremony, were eager to dive into authentic Korean cuisine. As they entered a bustling restaurant, the rich aroma of spices and grilled meats wafted through the air.
"This place looks amazing!" Riya's mother exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight.
Jungkook’s sister chimed in with a teasing grin, “Just wait until you try the kimchi! It’s the best in Seoul. I bet you’ll be coming back for more!”
As they settled at a large table, plates filled with a variety of dishes began to appear. Riya’s dad looked around, taking in the vibrant atmosphere. “I can’t wait to try everything. Riya, remember how picky you were with food back home? How did you end up loving all this?”
Riya laughed, “I had to adapt! Besides, who knew I’d love spicy food so much?”
Jungkook’s father interjected, “Just wait until you try the bulgogi. It’s my favorite! You’ll want the recipe!”
“Only if you promise to share it with me!” Riya’s dad replied, chuckling.
Jungkook, watching his parents and Riya’s parents interact, felt a warm surge of happiness. It was moments like these that made everything feel right.
Just then, Jungkook’s sister leaned toward Riya, a mischievous glint in her eye. “So, Riya, I’ve got to ask—how does it feel knowing my brother has your baby picture in his wallet?”
Riya’s face turned beet red, and she stuttered, “W-what? He does?”
Jungkook, trying to suppress a laugh, defended himself. “It’s a great picture! It’s a reminder of how adorable she was even then!”
“Adorable?” Riya shot back playfully, earning a light punch on the arm from Jungkook.
Their families burst into laughter, the teasing lightening the mood even more.
Riya’s mom nudged her, “You should have seen his baby pictures! They’re just as embarrassing!”
“Let’s not dig up those treasures,” Jungkook interjected, his cheeks turning a shade darker.
The conversation flowed effortlessly, parents sharing stories of Riya’s childhood, while Jungkook’s sister chimed in with tales of Jungkook’s early days in the industry. The warmth enveloping the table felt almost tangible.
After some playful banter, Riya’s parents turned serious. “So, Riya,” her father asked, “what are your plans now that you’ve graduated?”
Riya glanced at Jungkook, their fingers intertwining under the table. She smiled, “I’m going to join Jungkook’s company. I’ll be managing product production and testing new products.”
Jungkook quickly corrected her, “It’s our company, not just mine.”
Riya blushed, the warmth spreading through her cheeks. “Right, our company.”
“Look at you two!” Jungkook’s mom exclaimed, beaming with pride. “You really are a power couple!”
The atmosphere was electric with happiness and excitement as their families celebrated the momentous occasion together. After a delightful meal, they left the restaurant, Jungkook’s family’s mansion coming into view.
Later that night, as the clock struck 3 AM, Jungkook knocked on Riya’s door. She groggily called out, “What are you doing here at this hour?”
“I have a surprise for you,” he said, trying to keep his voice quiet.
