✨First official date✨
The festive atmosphere had settled, but the warmth from the previous night still lingered in Riya's heart. She and Jungkook were now officially a couple, and though the realization filled her with excitement, it also brought an underlying nervousness she couldn't quite shake off.
The next morning, Riya woke up feeling a soft tug at her blanket. She opened her eyes to see Jungkook crouching beside her bed, a mischievous grin plastered on his face.
“Wake up, sleepyhead,” he whispered, brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
Riya groaned, burying her face back into the pillow. “It’s too early for this,” she mumbled.
Jungkook chuckled. “Well, we have plans, remember? There’s something I want to show you before the festival continues.”
Intrigued, Riya sat up, rubbing her eyes. “What is it?”
“It’s a secret,” Jungkook replied, offering her a hand. “Get ready, and I’ll show you.”
Within half an hour, they were outside, the cold morning air crisp against their faces as they strolled through the village. The sun had barely risen, casting a golden hue over the snow-covered streets. Jungkook led her to a small hill just outside the village, the quiet surroundings making it feel like they were the only two people in the world.
When they reached the top, Jungkook stopped, turning to face her with a soft smile. “Close your eyes,” he said, his voice low and playful.
Riya hesitated for a moment but obeyed, trusting him completely. She felt him guide her a few steps forward before he let go of her hand.
“Okay, open them,” he whispered.
Riya opened her eyes and gasped. Before her lay a breathtaking view of the entire village, dusted with snow and illuminated by the soft glow of the early morning sun. In the distance, she could see the festival decorations still twinkling, the small cottages with smoke curling out of chimneys, and the frozen river that reflected the sky.
“It’s beautiful,” Riya breathed, her eyes wide with wonder. “How did you know about this place?”
Jungkook smiled, sliding his hands into his pockets. “I used to come here as a kid whenever I needed some space. It’s peaceful, and it always helped me think.”
Riya turned to look at him, her heart swelling with affection. “You really are full of surprises, aren’t you?”
He shrugged, looking a bit bashful. “I wanted to share it with you. It felt right.”
Riya stepped closer to him, her hand finding his. “Thank you for bringing me here, Jungkook. It’s perfect.”
They stood together in silence for a while, watching as the sun rose higher in the sky. The tranquility of the moment wrapped around them, and Riya felt a sense of peace she hadn’t experienced in a long time.
After a few moments, Jungkook broke the silence. “Riya, I’ve been thinking... about us.”
Riya glanced up at him, her heart beating a little faster. “What about us?”
He turned to face her fully, his expression serious. “I know we just started this, but I need you to know something. I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. You... you make me want to be better, to change for the better.”
Riya felt her cheeks warm as she listened. “Jungkook, I feel the same. You’ve already changed so much, and I’m proud of you.”
He smiled softly, his eyes filled with emotion. “I don’t want to rush anything, but I want to make sure you know how serious I am about you. I’m not just messing around.”
Riya squeezed his hand, feeling her heart swell with love. “I know, Jungkook. I feel the same. I wouldn’t have kissed you if I didn’t.”
Jungkook chuckled, his playful side returning for a moment. “That’s good to know.”
As the morning passed, they walked back to the village hand in hand, both feeling lighter and more connected than ever. The festival celebrations were in full swing, with music and laughter filling the air as they rejoined the festivities.
Later that afternoon, they found themselves back at the cottage, where Grandma was already busy preparing for the evening feast. The kitchen smelled like heaven, filled with the aroma of roasted meats and freshly baked goods.
“Jungkook, Riya! Just in time!” Grandma called out from the kitchen. “Help me with the decorations outside, would you?”
Jungkook groaned but smiled. “Of course, Grandma. We’re on it.”
Together, they strung lights along the front porch and hung ornaments on the trees outside. Jungkook, ever the tease, playfully tossed a handful of snow at Riya while she was hanging a wreath.
“Jungkook!” she shrieked, trying to dodge the snowball but failing miserably. “You’re so dead!”
Laughing, she scooped up snow and retaliated, and soon they were engaged in a full-blown snowball fight, their laughter echoing through the frosty air.
Grandma watched them from the window, shaking her head with a smile. “Those two are perfect for each other,” she mused to herself.
As the sun began to set and the village was bathed in the soft glow of lanterns, the festival reached its peak. Families gathered outside, setting off fireworks and sharing stories. Riya and Jungkook stood together, watching the sky light up with bursts of color.
“Thank you for today,” Riya said quietly, leaning her head on Jungkook’s shoulder.
He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close. “Anytime, princess. Anytime.”
As they stood there, surrounded by the warmth of the village and the twinkling lights, Riya couldn’t help but feel that this was the start of something truly magical.
And with Jungkook by her side, she was ready for whatever came next.
