✨Unexpected Encounters✨

Riyanshi sat on her bed, flipping through her notes, but her mind drifted back to India. She could still picture her friend Tara's tear-streaked face after her bad breakup. Tara's boyfriend had been the classic bad boy, charming at first but spiraling into jealousy and anger. The emotional scars left on Tara were evident, and Riyanshi shuddered at the thought of falling into a similar trap. "I won't end up like that," she vowed silently, reminding herself to stay cautious.

The next day, she walked into the college library, hoping to find a specific book for her upcoming class. The air was filled with the familiar scent of old pages and polished wood. As she scanned the shelves, she felt an unexpected flutter in her stomach, the kind she hadn't felt since arriving in Korea.

"Focus, Riyanshi," she muttered to herself, sliding her fingers along the spines of the books. When she finally spotted the book she needed, she pulled it from the shelf. As she did, she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure behind the bookshelf. It was Jungkook.

Her heart raced, and without thinking, she quickly shoved the book back onto the shelf and turned to leave. But as she made her way toward the exit, she collided with someone.

"Whoa!" Jungkook's deep voice echoed in the quiet library.

Riyanshi's cheeks flushed as she looked up to find him standing right there, a playful smirk dancing on his lips. "Fancy seeing you here," he said, leaning casually against the doorframe.

"Um, yeah," she stammered, trying to shake off the unexpected warmth spreading through her. "I just came for a book."

"I see." He stepped closer, his dark eyes locking onto hers. "Looking for anything in particular?"

Riyanshi fought the urge to glance away, feeling a mix of irritation and curiosity. "Just a textbook for class," she replied, forcing herself to sound indifferent.

"Textbooks are so boring," Jungkook teased, tilting his head slightly. "You should try reading something fun."

"Like what? A romance novel?" she shot back, a hint of sarcasm slipping through her defenses.

He chuckled softly, leaning in a bit. "Maybe. Or a mystery. Keeps the mind sharp."

Riyanshi's inner conflict brewed as she considered his words. "Maybe he's not so bad," she thought, "or maybe I'm just overthinking things."

Before she could respond, she noticed a group of students entering the library, their chatter pulling her attention away from Jungkook. "I really should get going," she said, stepping around him.

"Wait, Riyanshi," he called out, his voice softer. "Are you okay?"

The concern in his tone caught her off guard. "I'm fine," she replied a little too quickly, forcing a smile before slipping past him and out of the library.

The following day, the college announced a one-day group activity designed to foster connections between juniors and seniors. As students gathered in the auditorium, the air buzzed with excitement. Riyanshi sat with her classmates, hoping for a good pairing.

When the names were finally announced, her heart sank. "Riyanshi and Jungkook," the coordinator called, and the room erupted in a mix of cheers and whispers.

"No, no, no," she murmured under her breath, feeling a pang of dread. She shot a glance at Jungkook, who was wearing a confident smirk, as if he had orchestrated the whole thing.

As the crowd dispersed, she approached him, trying to keep her voice steady. "Did you have something to do with this?"

"What can I say? Guess we're just meant to be partners," he replied, feigning innocence but with a twinkle in his eye that made her heart race again.

"You think this is funny?" she asked, crossing her arms, trying to mask her annoyance.

"Not funny-just fate," he said with a playful shrug.

Riyanshi rolled her eyes, but a small part of her couldn't help but feel intrigued. As she walked away, she joined Hana, who was waiting nearby.

"Did you get stuck with him?" Hana asked, her eyes wide with mischief.

"Yeah, apparently," Riyanshi replied, trying to sound casual.

"Maybe he's not dangerous at all," Hana mused, her tone thoughtful. "He could just be a misunderstood guy who's trying to figure things out like the rest of us."

Riyanshi felt a twinge of uncertainty. Maybe Hana was right. Perhaps she was just overreacting, but the lingering thought of Jungkook's interest still played on her mind, leaving her more confused than ever.
