✨"Safe Haven"✨
Riyanshi's heart raced as she caught her breath, her fingers gripping Jungkook's shirt tightly. The confrontation with Hinjun had left her shaken, and the comforting presence of Jungkook felt like a lifeline in the storm of emotions swirling within her.
"Riyanshi, are you okay?" Jungkook's voice was low, almost a whisper, as he gently pulled her back to look into her eyes. The concern etched on his face melted away some of her fear.
"I... I'm fine," she stammered, though the tremor in her voice betrayed her. "I just-he was trying to-"
Before she could finish, Jungkook's expression hardened, his jaw clenched. "Did he touch you?"
"No, it was just-"
But Jungkook was already moving past her, eyes locked onto Hinjun, who stood smugly a few feet away, a cocky smile plastered on his face. The whispering crowd that had gathered fell silent, tension hanging in the air like a heavy fog.
"Jungkook, wait!" Riyanshi called after him, instinctively reaching out. But he was already closing the distance between them, fury radiating off him.
"Do you have a problem?" Jungkook's voice was icy, cutting through the murmurs.
Hinjun shrugged, his confidence unshaken. "Just having a little chat with your girlfriend, Kook. No need to get so worked up."
Riyanshi's stomach twisted at the word "girlfriend." She wanted to correct him, to clarify that they were just friends, but the words caught in her throat.
"Stay away from her," Jungkook said, his voice dangerously low. "You think it's funny to mess with someone who's already scared? You don't know who you're dealing with."
Hinjun laughed, crossing his arms. "What's she to you? A trophy to flaunt? You think you're some kind of protector? News flash-she doesn't need saving."
That was it. In a flash, Jungkook's fist connected with Hinjun's jaw, sending him stumbling back. Gasps echoed around them, and Riyanshi's eyes widened in shock. "Jungkook, stop!" she shouted, rushing to put herself between them.
"Are you okay?" he asked, turning to her with a mix of anger and concern.
"I'm fine! But you need to stop! Fighting isn't going to solve anything!"
Jungkook's eyes flickered with conflict. He was about to retort when the sound of footsteps drew their attention. The principal, flanked by several teachers, had arrived, the tension in the air thick enough to cut with a knife.
"What's going on here?" the principal demanded, glancing between the three of them.
Riyanshi took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure. "Nothing, sir. Just a misunderstanding."
"Misunderstanding?" Hinjun scoffed, rubbing his jaw, shooting a glare at Jungkook. "I was just having a friendly chat."
"Enough," the principal interjected. "Jungkook, I expect better from you. Fighting is unacceptable."
"I was just protecting her," Jungkook replied defensively, still seething with anger.
"Protecting? She doesn't need you to fight her battles. Is that clear?"
Riyanshi watched as Jungkook's posture stiffened, a mix of defiance and guilt flashing in his eyes. The principal's words struck a chord; she knew Jungkook was trying to help, but this wasn't the way.
As the crowd began to disperse, she turned to Jungkook. "Can we talk?"
He nodded, and they stepped aside, away from the prying eyes of their classmates.
"Look, I appreciate you wanting to protect me, but this isn't how to do it," she said, her voice firm yet gentle. " I don't want you to get in trouble for me."
"I just... I don't want anyone to hurt you," Jungkook replied, his voice softer now. "You're important to me."
Riyanshi felt her cheeks flush at his words, the weight of their implications hanging in the air. "I know you care, but we can't solve everything with violence."
"Okay," he said, taking a deep breath. "I'll try to keep my cool. For you."
The sincerity in his voice made her smile, albeit faintly. "Thank you. And I'll come to your match later, I promise."
A flicker of excitement ignited in Jungkook's eyes. "Really? You'll cheer for me?"
"Yeah, I will. Just promise me you'll keep your head in the game and not go looking for trouble, okay?"
He chuckled lightly, the tension between them easing. "Deal."
As they made their way back to the bustling campus, Riyanshi couldn't shake the feeling that despite the chaos, there was something unbreakable forming between them. She felt safe with him-a feeling she had never anticipated.
The day passed in a blur of classes and whispers about the incident, but as evening approached, all she could think about was the upcoming match.
Finally, when the time came, she found herself in the stands, heart racing as she watched Jungkook warm up on the field. He looked focused, serious yet determined, and for a moment, she was struck by how much she admired him.
As the whistle blew and the game began, she cheered for him, her voice mingling with the crowd. And for every goal scored, every tackle made, her heart swelled with pride.
When the game ended, and Jungkook's team emerged victorious, she couldn't help but rush down to meet him.
"Great job out there!" she exclaimed, beaming at him.
"Thanks! Did you see that last goal?" He was grinning, and the joy radiating off him was contagious.
"Of course! You were amazing!"
He stepped closer, and for a moment, they were lost in each other's eyes, the world around them fading away. "I couldn't have done it without you cheering for me."
"Yeah, well, I'm just glad you didn't get into any fights," she teased, her laughter bubbling up.
Suddenly, he pulled her into a quick hug, and her heart soared. "Let's celebrate! How about some food?"
"Sounds great!" she replied, feeling the warmth of his presence wrapping around her like a comforting blanket.
As they walked side by side, a new understanding passed between them-an unspoken promise of trust and friendship that would guide them through whatever challenges lay ahead.
And in that moment, Riyanshi knew she had found her safe haven.
