"Could you move any slower?" Isaiah mumbled in irritation at me when I slowly walked down the stairs to finally meet my husband-to-be. My week was almost up so Damon came over today to finally meet me.

"No I cannot. I said you could leave and wait for me outside." I replied smartly. He's been giving me attitude all morning and I don't have time for it.

When he arrived, his face said it all. He was scowling and his lips were pursed tightly like he didn't want to speak unless spoken to. I don't know what his problem is but he needs to take it up with someone else. It's been four days of his bad attitude and annoying fucking face. He would come over every morning to see if I needed to do something and every day he would spend it complaining or glaring at people. He's a nuisance.

A sexy nuisance but a nuisance nonetheless.

I knew it would be difficult for me when the day came to finally meet this Damon but now when the moment is really here, I felt much worse than I expected. I took two pills today instead of one to calm my nerves and focus on something else. I voiced these worries to Isaiah but he just grunted at me and told me to get over it.

Dick.

I don't want to get married, especially not to a guy like Damon. I don't even know much about him! Only negative shit and that doesn't leave a good impression.

I have to remind myself over and over again that I'm only doing this for my dad. It's his life or mine's and I would go through hell and back before I allow my dad to die. I can't lose another parent.

With every step towards the dining room the voices I heard grew louder and I felt my stomach twisting. I wasn't ready to stand face-to-face with my future husband, in fact I was terrified.

The moment I entered the room, the voices stopped and all the attention was
on me. I saw my father talking a large men who I assumed is Damon and they stared at me. The dining table was already placed with plates, cups and a bottle of wine sat in the middle. I could really use some of that.

As I expected from everything I had seen on the news, Damon is a handsome man. Tall with brown hair and mesmerizing blue eyes, lean body — not too muscular but enough — and it suits him. He had a charming smile and a beautifully well-shaped face. He's like a fucking sculpture from the gods themself.

His face didn't show much except that he was impressed by my appearance. He's nothing I expected him to be. He does give off a few red flags but his demeanor and expression is kind almost.
