"That right there was probably the best entertainment I've seen in a while." Winter says, cutting the silence.
"Did she just... cuss us out?" Damon says in confusion.
"She did." I confirmed, just as stunned.
The three of us looked at Kenvy. "What do you want me to do about her dad?" Damon asks and I snapped my head in his direction.
You won't be doing a damn thing.
"She has guts, I'll give it to her." Kenvy hums. He rubs his long beard, thinking. We stood around the room, waiting for him to say something. "Don't do nothing. I want to see if she'll stand on her word. Besides, she was bound to find out either way."
"Wait," Winter puts her hand up. "So you're fine with her yelling at you like that? What the hell did I miss while I was gone? When did my boys turn so soft."
"She just showed me right there that she has the potential to be a true leader. Yes, she disrespected me but she had the courage to do so. I saw no fear in that girls eyes. She even stood up to Isaiah and he isn't a man to take directions well." He says, giving me a look. "I don't like her but I respect her."
I grunted, agreeing with him.
"Okay, so are we just going to tiptoe around her now?" Damon asks.
"Continue on with your day like nothing happened. Do as she says and respect her. If she asks any questions, tell her."
"What about her mom?" Winter asks. "If what she said was true then that's fucked up. I don't think she's just going to easily forgive us like that."
"She won't ever forgive us and that's fine by me. I couldn't care less about her feelings. As long as she still agrees with this marriage, nothing else matters."
"That's cold pops." Damon mumbles.
"You have to be in this world. Zariah will be fine. Just keep an eye on her for now."
We all nod and he dismisses us. Winter and Damon leaves out first but Kenvy stops me. "A word."
