"Even your walk is angry, sweetheart." John stated as Beth walks over to the table for breakfast, the 5 taken seats as full as the table would be with the Duttons.
"With good reason." Beth replies
"I'm gonna check the airfield in Deer Lodge." Kayce begins, "But I'm starting to think that plane's from another state."
"Yeah if I can get a warrant, I can check flight logs out of air traffic control in Bozeman." Jamie adds, "It'll be a a lot of data to sift through, but..."
"I thought we're not supposed to talk about work at the dinner table." Beth cuts Jamie off.
"In the morning, it's the breakfast table, Beth." Tessa Tells her with a duh expression, and a mouth full of bacon. "We can talk business at the breakfast table."
"This is not a breakfast table." Beth tells not just Tessa, but the whole table, "This is a dining room table. How do I know it's a dining room table? Because it's in the fucking dining room. Breakfast tables are in the kitchen."
Tessa reached into her jeans pulling out the fiver Kayce had given her a few night ago. She locked eyes with Kayce, holding it up with a grin on her face.
"We don't even have one there..." Beth carried on, "we have a bar in the kitchen. So, I guess the point is, Dad, that you can discuss whatever you want at the dinner table, it's just us who have to navigate the algorithm of ways in which you control what's discussed."
"Honey, I don't even know what the fuck that means." John replies, as Kayce carefully holds up a five dollar note of his own.
Beth stands up grabbing her coffee and coat; "This is what it means, Dad."
As soon as she leaves the room Kayce tosses the money over to Tessa.
"I'm getting more money from Kayce, than daddy pays me for jobs." The 12 year old smiles pocketing that as well.
"You two can't be serious?" John muttered, Jamie chuckling.
"You're just jealous you're missing out." Tessa replied turning to Jamie, "you want in?"
Jamie chuckled, "no thanks Tess, I don't want to anger Beth anymore."
"Your loss." Tessa shrugged going back for more bacon.
"Stop wasting your time, son." John tells Jamie, "Just go to the source, all right? I want him to know what we know."
"You think that's a good idea?" Asked Jamie
"If I didn't think it was a good idea, I wouldn't have suggested it." John deadpanned
"Wear your badge today, Kayce." John adds, as Kayce stands up and heads out, "Take Ryan with you. Keep it official."
Kayce nods before leaving, "You." John looks to Jamie, "You've lost the right to question me for a while." And with that he walks out as well. Jamie gives a nod.

John canted straight down the middle of the yard, coming up to the fence he lent back giving the horse a loose rein. The two of the sliding to a stop.
"Whoa." John breathed out patting his neck. He walked the horse backwards a few steps as Rip rode his horse down, coming to a quick but nice stop
"goddamn, that horse can slide like a motherfucker." Tessa grinned, from her spot on the fence, "can I get on?"
"I tell ya, if the world was flat, he'd slide right off it." Rip agreed climbing off, he handed the reins over to Tess.
"If he can stop like that when Travis comes, you'll be in the money." Lloyd calls from the other side of the fence.
