Denver, Colorado. Unmistakenly, there's a new victim of our Black Widow. This morning Jonathan M. Guller, CEO of D-Star, was found dead in the bathtub of a hotel room with a knife in his head. So, I had to go check it out and decided to split the team. I took Dave and Prentiss with me in Denver while the others stayed to work the case in California.
First, we visit the crime scene. "The whole room looks almost untouched. The only thing not in order is the body in the bathtub" Dave says, "But there are noticably less signs of torture. She pretty much went straight for the kill" he notices
"Could she be in a rush?" I suggest
"They found traces of bleach in the shower and on the bathroom floor. She took the time to clean up before leaving" Prentiss informs us.
"Bartender says Guller was talking and drinking with a blonde attractive lady for about 40 minutes before leaving" I report back to them
"Alone?" Dave asks
"Yes" I answer
"She could have told him to book a room and wait for her" Prentiss suggests, "Are there cameras in the hallways?"
"Yes, Garcia is getting the footage right now" I answer. "She found that Guller texted his wife around 7pm that he will stay in the office until late. However, he left D-Star around the same time and came here. There are no further messages that would indicate he was set to meet someone here" I mention
"She knew what time he was off and where he'd be"
"Originally, we thought that the victimology was random. But it is looking like the victims are specific targets who she studies and watches" I admit.
"Maybe she's a hitman. She gets hired, and then studies her target" Prentiss suggests.
Maybe we need to put together a new profile from scratch.
"We should go to talk to his COO and CFO in D-Star and see what he was involved in" I say
"I'll come with you" Prentiss offers
"I'll stay here and wait to see if Garcia finds something in the security footage" Dave says.
On the way to D-Star, my phone starts ringing.
"Angel?" Prentiss reads the caller ID. "That's why you've been so happy lately" she smiles, "Please, pick up. Pretend I'm not here"
"I'm driving. I will call her back later" I keep my eyes on the road.
"Are you still afraid to be vulnerable around us?" she tilts her head
"No... I just want to keep my personal life private"
"Private doesn't equal secret" she points out.
"Alright, yes, I'm in a relationship and it is new and it's..."
"Scary?"
"In a way, yes" I admit.
"Are you in love?" she teases, but I don't deny it. "Oh, damn... Well, I'll be waiting for the wedding invitation"
"Ok, let's not go there yet. We've known each other 2 months"
"I've seen people get married after 3 months of dating"
"And how soon did they divorce?" I wonder
"Not relevant" she chuckles.
We arrive at D-Star -it sound like a pornstar's name every time I say it- and demand to talk with the COO first. The receptionist makes a call and then tells us to head to his office. Walking across the floor, all eyes are on us. When we get in the elevator, we overhear two women talk about the news of Guller's murder in a very light tone.
Without having to ask, Prentiss goes to talk to the two ladies while I go to the COO's office. He gives me some of Guller's questionable connections and I forward the names to Garcia as I wait for Prentiss in the lobby.
And then I call Sofia.
"Hi!" I can literally hear her smile as she answers the phone
"Hello. I'm sorry I didn't pick up earlier, I was driving"
"That's ok. Just wanted to say good morning and check in"
"Good morning? It's 1pm in DC" I chuckle
"It was a long night" she replies
"Yeah, I think I got that from your goodnight message at 4am" I admit. "Was it a nice wedding?"
"Very. Everything went as planned, I even got a couple drinks and had some fun with Serena. It was pretty tight"
"Nice. I wish I was there"
"Sure" she chuckles
"What? Do you think I'd prefer being on a case rather than attend a wedding with you?"
"Well, I wasn't attending, I was working and then was paid to stay for touch ups"
"Still, much better than where I am right now" I sigh
"That bad?" she asks
"Yeah... I had to leave California and check something else that came up. So now I'm working on the new case and I'm trying to manage the team in California's at the same time. I'm a little over my head"
"I'm sorry to hear that. I promise to make you dinner and give you a very good massage when you get bad. I'm going to rub all over those tense muscles of your with my soft hands..." she drops her voice, and I imagine her hands around my dick right now
"Stop making me hard at work" I whisper
"I wish I was there, on my knees--"
"I gotta go, Sof" I chuckle
"Alright" she laughs. "Call me when you're alone"
"I will. Bye"
"Bye".
"So, I talked to the ladies from HR..." Prentiss says as she approaches. "Guller was a very bad guy. He has been sexually harassing and threatening almost every woman that went through this company"
"How are there no reports of this?"
"Because he is friends with the local PD and he basically destroys anyone who tries to bury him down"
"Do we know any of those?"
"They gave me two names; Rachel Bloom and Willa Summers" she reads from a post-it.
"Don't notify the PD about this. Call Garcia and ask for Bloom and Summers' addresses. I'll call Dave and let him know to be careful around the officers".
After some research, we discover that the two of ladies tried to report Guller despite his threats -with real evidence of his behavior-, but ended up getting fired and sued for stealing from the company with fake evidence.
We visited them later in the day. After some pushing, Bloom admitted that after her firing someone came in contact with her promising that they could take care of the issue. She told Summers because they were going through the same thing around the same time and gathered the money together.
We didn't alert Denver PD about this, because it would bring more consequences on the two women since it proved Guller's pervert behavior. So, we didn't proceed with an arrest in exchange for information. They were able to give us a phone number and a bank account.
