Hearing the sound of Miyeon's grim laughter, Jimin was stunned. He subconsciously turned to look at her, yet at this moment, she had already lowered her gaze and turned to look to the side.
"Is she still like that? Looks like that isn't so," said Miyeon calmly. The contents of her words confused Jimin, and he did not understand what he meant.
He thought about it before asking, "Miss Cho, were you very close to Chief Zhuang before this?"
She wrapped herself with the coat tighter as she replied indifferently, "I'm not."
Jimin recalled Miyeon's relationship with the Manoban family previously, and his expression turned stiff. He was well aware of the situation, so he did not ask further after that. Instead, she looked up to look at the bench where Chitiip and Jennie sat under the sun and sighed. "I did meet Chief Zhuang quite a few times before this. It's quite hard to imagine that she would have such easy-going moments. She's the famous stern iron wrist in the world of politics. Many people are..."
She did not continue while a smile just curled up on her lips. Jimin softly reminded, "It's best not to simply discuss matters like that. Be careful. The walls might have ears."
Miyeon knew the kind of person Chitiip was. While she had never gotten any goodwill out of Chitiip, much less have chatted the casual way she was chatting with Jennie right now.
In the past, even though she had very carefully tried to please Chitiip, all she would have gotten would be an indifferent nod.
So, back then, her mother had told her that even if she married into the Manoban family, she might not have pleasant days to come, but...
"Miss Cho, you're right. The sun's pretty lovely. How about we go out to sunbathe too? Master Kim's schedule for today is packed, but he's worried about you, Ms. Cho, so he sent me to come and see if you need help with anything."
Miyeon gazed up at the warm sun on the horizon, then sat down on the bench on the side.
She watched the figures of the two people on the bench again as she suddenly asked Jimin softly, "Are you saying that the person I got into an accident with is this Jennie's best friend's husband?"
Jimin responded with a nod, "Yeah, Director Kim has been good friends with Miss Im and Mr. Yoo since they were young. Miss Im and Mr. Yoo have just been married for less than a year. Their daughter is only two months old. According to the doctor, his condition is quite concerning. Master Kim has also been helping him contact some doctors, hoping for him to regain consciousness soon."
"Is Jisoo a good friend of Miss Kim? If that's the case, I really put him in a tight spot, huh?" Miyeon looked at Jimin, her blue eyes flickering with a guilty light as she smiled wryly.
"Miss Cho, don't blame yourself. Master Kim's just doing his best as a friend. Director Kim and Chairman Manoban are partners with Master Kim, aren't they? Master Kim feels bad that such an incident has happened as well." Jimin sighed, disheartened.
"Doing his best as a friend..." Miyeon muttered softly, yet a skeptical smile flashed across her eyes. "Can they actually let go of all the past grudges and be friends? That requires a lot of courage! I really don't understand him anymore... Please help me check which ward Mr. Yoo is staying at."
Jimin hesitated before nodding and then leaving very quickly.
Meanwhile, Jennie and Chitiip chatted for a while before Solar went over, and Jennie went to visit Jeongyeon.
Chitiip coincidentally decided to meet some friends in Hospital T too. When she saw Jennie and Solar vanishing in the walkway, she was about to go and meet them. Then, she turned around and walked away.
When she saw Miyeon sitting on the side, Chitiip was a little surprised, but she was extremely calm and pretended as if she did not see her and continued walking ahead.
As Miyeon watched Chitiip walk past her, broodiness flashed in her eyes. Both her hands subconsciously clenched tightly and she endured it for a while before she could not help but speak up, "Aunt Zhuang, long time no see. Are you so terribly busy that you can't even say hi?"
When she heard Miyeon greet her out loud, Chitiip stopped walking and turned to her side to glance Miyeon with apathy, "Since you know how to call me Aunt Zhuang, then you're acknowledging your status as one of the younger generation. My eyesight isn't too great. If you hadn't greeted me, how would I have known that the person sitting there is you?"
Chitiip was cold as always. She was far different from the easy-going and loving person while chatting with Jennie earlier.
Upon hearing that, Miyeon laughed bitterly and replied quite sweetly, "Well, in that case, I'm really sorry. It was my fault! Aunt Zhuang, you're naturally beautiful. Five years have passed and you haven't quite changed. You're as radiant as you were from before, and all spirited and sprightly."
Chitiip did not say anything. Her sharp line of sight swept across Miyeon with her classic stern and incisive look which showed that she was unflustered. Miyeon felt the pit of her stomach tighten in anxiety!
She almost forgot how incredible this Chitiip was. Every time she met her, Miyeon would feel a lack of confidence. With that sly fox in the Manoban family, all of them were difficult to deal with.
"Aunt Zhuang, why are you looking at me like that?" Miyeon muttered.
"Miss Cho, five years ago, I didn't care whether you had a reason, but since the incident has happened, it's a reality that no one can change. These five years, I don't want to know what happened to you either. Right now, the only outcome is that Suho has passed while you are still alive. Sehun is probably still alive too, isn't he? I don't care what you're back for this time, but if you're thinking about bad intentions, don't blame me for not being courteous. You know my temper and tricks well enough, don't you?"
Chitiip was always frank, and she did not care about beating around the bush with Miyeon.
Admittedly, when Chitiip said that, Miyeon's expression froze.
"Since you like Sehun, you should guard him well. Lisa was happy to let you two be as well even though he didn't tell me the reason. I could already guess that you were behind it. You can't have your cake and eat it. I don't care what has conspired between the Cho family and the Kim family, but I definitely won't allow someone with bad intentions to marry into the Manoban family."
When Miyeon heard Chitiip, her expression darkened, and she could not help but defend herself. "Aunt Zhuang, you're the same as before. You're simply prejudiced against me. I don't blame you, but please don't insult my integrity!"
"Insult your integrity? Are you sure you have an ounce of integrity? Dare you say that you've been honest to Lisa and Suho?"
