Jennie walked towards the drawer and got him the car keys. "Put on another layer of clothes. It's cold outside." She also grabbed his coat on the sofa and passed it to him.
He nodded and slung the coat over his shoulder before heading outside. Jisoo and Moonbyul bade their farewells and followed him.
It was already late at night, so the whole Grand Waves Villa area was quiet amidst the chilly weather.
Lisa sent Jisoo to the entrance of the Grand Lake Villa area before sending Moonbyul back to his condominium.
On the way back, Moonbyul asked Lisa, "So, you really trust Jisoo now, huh? But now that I look at him, he seems pretty genuine. What did you do? How did he change so much?"
"He's a smart guy, and I believe in his decision-making skills. There are no eternal enemies, only eternal benefits."
Lisa understood Jisoo's situation very well, hence he trusted his own decision. His appearance today confirmed his thoughts.
"You're pretty confident, but you'll never know what he's really thinking. As your friend, I have to remind you that Jisoo looks like he's got something to hide. Be careful and take precautionary measures." Moonbyul gave Lisa a reminder as he looked at him pointedly.
"I got it. It's time for you to go. Jennie is still waiting for me at home. I'll get someone to drive your car over tomorrow."
"Let's gather again when Seulgi gets back. It's been several months since we've had a drink together. You're almost becoming a shut-in. It's not healthy to always stay with your wife. How can a man survive without any entertainment?" Moonbyul glanced at Lisa and patted his shoulder. "Don't dote on her too much and become her slave!"
Lisa threw him a cold stare and he quickly shut up, disembarking from the car quietly.
Hae Sook was already asleep by the time he got back to Maple Residence while Jennie was going through some documents in the study room after a shower.
Jennie sorted the documents based on priorities. When she was done and had gone into the bedroom, Lisa came out of the bathroom wearing a blue sleeping robe.
Jennie went over and tied the sash of his robe for him as she asked, "What were you guys talking about? That was a long chat. It's already half past ten."
He ran his fingers through her hair and put his arm over her shoulder. "Nothing much, just some stuff that happened recently.
"Miyeon?" She looked at him, her fingers interlocking with his while she slid her other arm around his waist.
He looked downwards and touched her baby bump. "Who else could it be except them? Naeyon is fine now. You can relax and rest at home. Take a look at yourself in the mirror."
Jennie saw herself in the mirror. She looked exhausted and had some dark circles around her eyes although it was better now compared to several days earlier.
"A lot has happened. I'm just a little tired from worrying about Naeyon."
"Go to bed earlier. Don't stay up so late at night again. Go to sleep before 10.30 pm."
"Mmm, the little thing has fallen asleep as well. It was acting up just now and Grandmother sang some songs. She said it must be a boy."
"A girl, one who listens to me."
Lately, their conversations had been revolving around their child. Master Manoban could never understand why new parents always talked about their children, but now he finally understood it himself.
The next day, Jennie woke up as a result of some noise. Although the man was nowhere to be seen, as usual, he had prepared some clothes for her to change into. When she got downstairs after washing up, Do Kyung was there reading the newspaper and enjoying some tea on the sofa.
Sis Wang was quick to notice Jennie. "Good morning, Missus!"
Jennie nodded in response. "Good morning!"
Do Kyung looked over when he heard their voices. He spoke gently, "You're awake."
"Good morning, Grandfather! Where's Grandmother and Lisa?"
"Missus, Master went to work, and he specifically told you to stay at home and rest. He'll take care of the handover work and will call you if there's anything he needs. The flowers in the backyard have bloomed, so Elder Madam is there right now."
"Have some breakfast, Sis Wang. Get Elder Madam back here for breakfast." Do Kyung's expression was not as strained as Jennie imagined. Instead, he looked slightly helpless, and it seemed like the conflict yesterday ended with his defeat.
Breakfast was soon served. It was a nutritious Eastern breakfast.
Hae Sook sat down beside Jennie and opposite Do Kyung. She was definitely giving him a hard time.
After Do Kyung gulped down half a bowl of porridge, he quietly uttered, "Well, I fed the parrot... I didn't pluck out your flowers. I even watered them. I also... didn't go to the ***... I really didn't. I stayed at home all night. You can ask Marco if you don't believe me. We played some chess and only went to sleep at around midnight!" Do Kyung explained himself as he looked at his wife.
Hae Sook ignored him outright. She scooped another half bowl of porridge for Jennie and smiled. "Here, have a little more. I know you don't like greasy food, so we made this."
Her kind attitude to Jennie was a huge contrast to how she usually treated Do Kyung. He started to frown.
"Grandfather, Grandmother, that's enough now. Lisa said Ryujin and Yeji will be going back home as they will be leaving for France tonight. They might only be back after several months, let Chauffeur Wang send you two back home after breakfast."
Jennie remembered what her man said last night.
"What? Ryujin and Yeji are going to France? Didn't Lisa just return from there?"
The two of them were stunned.
"There are still some things that need to be handled there. It's also an opportunity for them to travel around." Jennie smiled.
