Lisa put his arm over her shoulder as they walked along the corridor and headed outside.
Unexpectedly, they bumped into Miyeon who was getting discharged from the hospital that day.
Jennie had to admit that Miyeon was a true beauty. She wore a khaki-colored windbreaker with her hair tied into a simple knot. Her face was beautiful, and her eyes were blue like sapphires.
She was just glamorous.
Jennie was skeptical about the saying that Caucasians were usually better looking, but her doubts were cleared the moment she saw Miyeon.
Miyeon halted her steps when she saw Jennie and Lisa. She stood beside the car as she watched them walk over. Her expression was calm, and her gaze was icy cold.
"Master!" Haruto quickly went forward and shot Miyeon an alert glance.
"Not even a greeting?" Miyeon spoke softly with a smile on her face. She did not express any other emotions on the surface.
Jennie had no idea that Lisa and Miyeon met before this. The current situation felt awkward. When she turned towards Lisa, she noticed how calm he was. His eyes seemed unfazed and cold when he looked at Miyeon. Even Jennie could feel the chilly aura around him.
Since Lisa remained silent, Miyeon laid her sights on Jennie. "Ms. Kim, we meet again. I'm sure it's a pleasure meeting this time."
"You should call her Mrs. Manoban." Lisa's deep voice reached her as his arm over her shoulder tightened.
"I thought we'd be able to have a nice, long talk since we've reunited after such a long time. You're still cold as ever, but I really don't like the way we talked that night. Lisa, I'm not the same person as before anymore. Whatever I want, I'll get it," Miyeon spoke quietly as she closed in.
"You know very well I can do much more than what happened that night."
Miyeon let out a cold laugh. "I know you've always wondered how Suho died, but I'll never tell you. You just have to know that you killed him. You spared no mercy to your own brother. He suffered greatly when he died."
As expected, Lisa's eyes darkened after he heard Miyeon and his grip on Jennie's shoulder tightened once again. Jennie could feel the intense coldness from him.
"Not only did you elope with someone else behind your fiancè's back, but you even incited Suho to help you guys and indirectly caused his death, yet now you're blaming the victim. Ms. Cho, is your brain only made up of muscles? How could you act like you're on the side of justice while you just want revenge?"
Jennie was getting protective. She shot Miyeon a sarcastic look and her tone was sharp. "Such shameless behavior like yours deserves a death penalty if it happened in the ancient era. Is your beauty inversely correlated to your IQ? Where does your sense of justice come from? If we actually want to hold someone responsible, you're the real cause of the whole tragedy, aren't you?"
Miyeon was stunned for a moment. She then replied as her expression darkened. "Ms. Kim please be mindful of your attitude!"
"I don't think my attitude has any issue. Compared to protected little princesses like you, I don't see what's so bad about being straightforward and authentic. At the very least, I won't go eloping with someone else. I know how to spell the word shame. Are you sure you do?"
Jennie gave Miyeon a hard stare. Despite being furious, Miyeon was able to control her expression of emotions very well. She acted as if she did not care what Jennie just said as she gave Lisa a smile. "Letting a woman act recklessly... That's not like you at all, Lisa."
She then glanced coldly at Jennie and smiled. "You're not involved at all. You have no right to talk about it because you don't know what happened. Lisa, you know very well what you've done. What now? Are you so speechless that you need your woman to defend you?"
Lisa was indifferent. He gave Jennie a gentle glance before staring at Miyeon coldly. "You're wrong. I enjoyed it."
He ignored Miyeon's reaction as he dragged Jennie toward the car. Haruto opened the door for them, and Jennie turned over elegantly and gave Miyeon a graceful glance before going in.
The car soon left and vanished amidst the traffic.
Miyeon took a deep breath and closed her eyes in bitterness. She smiled wanly and clenched her fists.
She was the true victim! Her Weiwei was the innocent one!
How could they live their lives in peace while she had to go through the pain?
This world was unfair!
Miyeon felt a pain shoot in her chest as she thought about it.
The chauffeur was driving carefully. The atmosphere inside the car was turning so dark that even Haruto, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, could feel it.
"Master, where are we going now? Are we still heading to the New Era Shopping Centre?"
He wanted to bring Jennie out for a walk, but it did not seem like the right time. Lisa leaned back quietly, looking outside the window and not replying Haruto.
After a while, Jennie said, "Go back to Maple Residence."
"Yes, Missus!"
Haruto did not say anything else. Jennie looked at Lisa for a while before grabbing the hand that rested on his lap. "Don't mind what she said. It's all in the past now. No matter what, I'll trust you and support you."
Lisa had a faint smile on his face as he embraced her.
