He pinched the space between his eyebrows and continued, "Any stepfather you find for me is probably better than him. I'm not staying with you two anyway. I don't care what the two of you are doing. You're giving yourself a tough time, and I'm suffering the consequences."

Jisoo put on a wicked smile as sarcasm filled his tone. "If I were you, I'd collect evidence of him cheating. He also uses violence on you, doesn't he? If you're lucky, you might be able to get half of his assets if you present these pieces of evidence to the court." His tone was casual and easy as if he did not care.

"No, Xiao Jisoo, you'd lose everything if I do that. Your grandfather has already proclaimed you as the successor of the Kim family. We're not here to steal from others, but we should take what we deserve. I've endured this the whole time. I can't involve my son as well!"

Wang Qin looked at Jisoo with sorrow in her eyes. "Kim Joon shifted his hatred towards me onto you. You're innocent, Xiao Jisoo. It's all my fault."

Jisoo turned away, his smile becoming cold, and eventually, his expression faded. He just looked outside the car window without saying anything.

"Xiao Jisoo, I just hope that you can be well. I hope you don't have to become like me. I want you to lead a happy life, but you're such a proud person. How could you...? I know you don't like to listen to this since I'm sure you already know, but I suppose he never thought of you as his son, seeing how he treated you in Miyeon's office."

"He has no right to be my father," Jisoo gave a brief reply. Wang Qin was heartbroken to hear that, so she assured him, "You still have me! I'll protect you forever!"

"It's fine. It really doesn't matter to me. Just take care of yourself. Because of just one mistake, you're suffering the consequences for the rest of your life. I'm really impressed by your courage and tenacity. If it were me, I'd have left a long time ago."

Jisoo took a deep breath and continued, "You don't have to bother with Shasha as well. If not, that old man might mess with you. Shasha... She's changed. If you mess with her, she might do something to you. I know her way too well."

"Miyeon! I told you she's a scheming woman, Xiao Jisoo. Luckily, you didn't go over that time, or else you might've been the one in the accident instead of Suho! Suho is really stupid, being fooled by Miyeon. She was eloping together with Sehun and not him. I'm not sure if I should laugh or applaud his effort," Wang Qin said.

"Mind your words. Suho is my good friend." Jisoo's eyes darkened when he heard Wang Qin's remark, and he shot Wang Qin an unhappy glance. "I'm sure he has his reasons. Maybe he doesn't deserve the criticism."

"I know you, Sehun, and Suho were all under Miyeon's spell. Speaking of Suho, he probably loved Miyeon as much as you both. The way he looks at her can't be faked. However, I never expected him to just hand her over to Sehun." Wang Qin was reminded of some scenes from the past.

However, Jisoo frowned. "Suho? What do you mean?"
