Jennie did not think that Krystal would come over just as she and Naeyon were in the midst of a chat.
When they heard the patter of footsteps, Jennie subconsciously turned to look and saw Krystal dressed in a light red winter overcoat in the latest trend. She wore light makeup, concealing her wan and sallowness, but from the way she moved, you could tell that she probably had it rough.
Was she not hospitalized?
Why was she here?
Jennie and Naeyon exchanged a look. Their eyes were filled with some doubt and vigilance.
"I want to talk to you." Krystal stopped before the two of them, her dim and gloomy eyes FALLING onto Jennie, confusing her.
Jennie's expression was calm and her tone was cold as she said, "But I don't know what there is to talk to you about. If it's about Kai or is related to the Kim family, then we don't have much to talk about."
Krystal just smiled coldly and said firmly, "But I think I have many things to talk to you about. I came here intentionally. Since you think that you can be quite undisturbed, why would you be worried that I'd delay you for a few minutes, Jennie?"
Like before, her tone was still not courteous. Jennie was very clear about how much this woman resented her!
Jennie did not answer. As Krystal's dull gaze suddenly sharpened, she glanced at Naeyon beside Jennie. Her intentions were clear, yet Naeyon ignored her while Jennie mocked in disdain, "Krystal, didn't your mother teach you that when you're asking to speak to someone, it's best if you be more courteous and respectful with your attitude?"
"Naeyon, this is between Jennie and me. You're an outsider. Would you die if you were less of a busybody?" Krystal was quite furious, you could sense from the sneer on her face that this time, Kai's actions must have impacted her quite a bit.
"If there's anything, you can just tell me. I don't have much time." When she saw Krystal snap at Naeyon, Jennie immediately frowned.
Krystal looked at Jennie's cold little face and clenched her teeth. She took a deep breath in and then said, "Don't you know that Kai has left City Z?"
"I know. He even brought your son away." Jennie's expression was apathetic as she responded.
"Does that means you already knew that he wanted to leave? Did he tell you personally that he wanted to leave?" Krystal's grip on her sleeves tightened as she looked gloomy with her eyes fixed on Jennie.
Jennie smiled indifferently. "You're his wife. Don't you think it's quite odd to be asking me this kind of questions?"
"Odd? I just want to know whether he loves me or you! He doesn't even love me all that much. Otherwise, how could he be so cruel and heartless? I'm going crazy from thinking about this. He leaves when he wants to, but why did he take my child away!? I gave birth to the child. Was it you who taught him to do that? I know he's looked for you. Don't think about lying to me!" Krystal looked like she was about to break down, and as she spoke, her beautiful eyes started to tear up.
"Why are you so weird? Your child was taken away by Kai. What does this have to do with Jennie?" Naeyon could not hold back her anger as she glared at Krystal with widened eyes.
However, Krystal pretended not to hear her as she fixed her gaze on Jennie. "Jennie! Speak! Was it you? He's not even picking up my calls right now, but I know that he'll definitely pick your calls up. I want you to tell him that if he dares say that he once loved me, then he should return the child to me. I won't go after all the things from the past."
"Why should I make this call for you?" Jennie sneered. "I finally feel better now knowing you're not doing well. Who Kai loves or loved has nothing to do with me. As for matters related to the child, those are your family matters. It's got nothing to do with me. On the day that Kai left, he had someone send over a bouquet of yellow roses. The card says that he hopes I could forgive him, and he wished Lisa and me well, that we would be happy forever."
Before Jennie could finish, Krystal immediately responded, "I don't believe you!"
"Whether you want to believe me or not is up to you. From the moment that Kai chose you between the two of us, we were completely done for. All the memories of these past years have faded away too. Besides, Kai can't compare to Lisa. Do you think I'm a fool? Would I ditch a watermelon for a sesame seed?" Jennie's determined tone was overbearing as her cold eyes flashed with indifference and disdain.
"If you really want to get Kai back, then you can just end everything here and go look for him in San Francisco. Don't be here making an unreasonable scene with me. All of this is meaningless. Krystal, if we're talking about your so-called 'happiness', then you have far more than me, but you don't appreciate them. There's no one in this world who owes you kindness. The only person you can change is yourself. Your narrow-mindedness, your greediness, your jealousy, and your lack of introspection has harmed you, so the person who destroyed you was yourself."
Jennie looked up, her calm and indifferent eyes meeting Krystal's. "Deng Wewen, Chaerin, Kai, the Han family... Ask yourself have they not been good to you? Have I harmed you? What made you want to go against me? Ever since we were young, you'd always think of ways to take away everything I have. You didn't want to let me do well. Krystal, you're psychopathic. You should go get checked. You're quite sick. If one is physically sick, you can still heal, but if your heart is sick, then there's no fixing that."
Jennie sighed to herself and slowly got up. Naeyon also stood up and helped her.
"Next time, don't come looking for me again. As for Kai, the Kim family, and everything related to you, I don't want to know. I've never cared for Yueying. If we were to talk about qualifications, I never thought of myself more inferior than you. At least, I've never admitted that you're prettier than me, and in terms of talents, I don't think I lose to you either. Krystal, your enemy is yourself and not me! If you really want to go after something, you'll just have to blame it on your bad luck. Why didn't you meet a Lisa too?"
Jennie's cold voice contained a hint of sarcasm that sounded thorny to Krystal. She was angry and hurt at the same time. She could barely catch her breath and struggled for a while. Just when she was about to refute, she suddenly heard the sound of steady footsteps. Subconsciously, she looked up to see Lisa's handsome and lanky figure.
