Her writing was gentle and elegant unlike his powerful scrawls.
However, they complimented each other and seemed harmonious together.
It was the first time she wrote his name above hers, as well as her first time writing his name...
Jennie was headstrong all her life, but she was now enjoying the gentle and peaceful life he had created for her.
Her love for him was irreplaceable.
She used to think that true love was very far away from her grasp. She had been damaged and in despair. Her mother told her to believe it when it came, to look forward to it.
Everyone would find their love eventually. In this whole wide world, there would be someone that protected you.
Sometimes, she felt bliss when she thought about him and that would put a grin on her face as it did right now.
By the time she realized she could smell a unique fragrance behind her, long fingers grabbed her hand and she was hugged from behind. His magnetic voice reached her ears. "This is the best writing I've ever seen, my dear."
Embarrassed, Jennie quickly covered her writings and glanced at him. "Why are you always so quiet?"
Lisa smiled, his eyes seeming mysterious. Jennie gave him a confused look and he laughed instead. He let go of her hand before patting her head. Suddenly, he took out a large bouquet of blue roses.
It was a bouquet of fully bloomed roses in a deep and mesmerizing blue.
Jennie chuckled. Her eyes were delighted as she quickly grabbed them. "It's been some time since you sent me flowers. I thought you forgot about it already!"
"How could I forget? I can even forget myself, but I won't be able to forget you." His face suddenly got closer to hers.
Jennie could almost see Lisa's tail wagging behind him. Her smile was getting wider as her laughter filled the room. She gently tapped Lisa's face and then said, "Mr. Manoban, I'm starting to realize that you're pretty cute... but your queen will fulfill your wishes. You're an obedient little puppy."
She left two kisses on his cheeks. "How could I have conquered such an amazing man?"
It was a sunny day in winter. Under the sun's gentle glow, the tall buildings looked like they were coated in holy golden rays, appearing beautiful and mesmerizing. The refractions off the windows made people feel insignificant as they looked at them from below.
This was where Fuhua Real Estate was located.
This building was constructed by Fuhua Real Estate itself. Lisa remembered that this place was an undeveloped land when he was still a child, and things had not been particularly lively around here, but in just twenty years, this place had grown so much!
Lisa was firm in his opinions like Jennie was, and the South River area would be like this soon too.
He took the lift and arrived in Yong Gun's office, bumping into Lan Zilang who just came out of the room. The latter was surprised to see him there.
"Chairman Manoban! Why are you here? Are you meeting Elder CEO?" Lan Zilang greeted as he told the secretary to get them some tea.
Lisa nodded. "I have something to discuss with him. Is he inside?"
"He's in a meeting right now, so you might have to wait. It should be done in around 10 minutes. I'm just here to get some documents. You know what? I'll let him know," Lan Zilang said.
Lisa stopped him. "It's fine. I'll wait inside the office and I'll let Grandfather know once he's done with the meeting."
"Alright, have a seat inside then."
Lisa was alone since Haruto was still in Glory World.
Yong Gun's office was simple and clean. Lisa knew Yong Gun was in the military before. He maintained the same simple lifestyle even after so many years, so he was surprised when he first came over with Jennie and saw his office.
Lisa sat down on the sofa, enjoying the tea as he flipped through some magazines. Yong Gun came back from the meeting 10 minutes later, and he was glad to see Lisa.
"There's some work to be done by the end of the year. I was planning to let Jennie take over after November, but my great-grandchild is coming soon, so we'll just have to wait until after the New Year."
"I'm afraid you'll need to work hard for a little while longer, Grandfather. Jennie will be able to take over Fuhua after she recovers from the delivery. I've promoted some capable talents in Glory World and passed over the work she was handling to them."
Yong Gun nodded. "Sorry that you have to work harder. I'm getting old now and I'm not as tough as I was ten years ago. At most, I can only hang on for several years more. I feel kind of exhausted ever since your mother's incident. Alright, let's not talk about this. Are you here to discuss something with me?"
Lisa put his teacup down and looked at Yong Gun quietly. Moments later, he said, "This morning, I received a call from Doctor Harrison in Los Angeles. Mother removed the bandages this morning and her sight has returned. She'll be returning in two days after a little observation. I asked Doctor Harrison about her condition and he said she is recovering very well, so I got Ah Bo to book them flight tickets back to City Z in three days."
Yong Gun seemed glad even though he already knew Lisa's intention of coming here.
Suddenly, Yong Gun was not sure what to say. His expression looked complicated, and moments later, he looked at Lisa with a frown.
"What do you think about Father and Mother?"
Lisa asked as he observed Yong Gun's reaction, "I'm sure you know about their situation lately, Grandfather. I'm sure that Mother is at least a little bit happier with Father around. If they come back, what will you do about Father?"
Yong Gun still felt a little uncomfortable talking about Hyunbin. No matter what, it was impossible to forget about the damage Hyunbin had done to Ye-Jin. His impression of Hyunbin was at its worst.
"Lis, I know what you mean. I lost our bet back then and I will fulfill our promise. I won't interfere with them. I won't forbid them to be together and I won't give Hyunbin trouble as well, but if you want me to act like nothing happened before and accept him wholeheartedly, that's impossible."
After so much had happened, Yong Gun thought a lot about it and had many regrets.
Yong Gun never liked to compromise, even with his own daughter. If he had agreed to Ye-Jin and Hyunbin being together back then, and she got married as the Son family's daughter, would everything have been different now?
Yong Gun was a prideful person. Maybe it was exactly because he only had one daughter, he was too protective of her, and that stubbornness could potentially lead to internal conflict.
Children all had their own views of the world. While parents do have more experience and want them to do well, they could not just clip their wings as that might cause unnecessary tragedies.
Yong Gun suddenly felt extremely guilty of his behavior. He just felt that there was too much to worry about.
However, Lisa only nodded as he listened to Yong Gun. "I'm glad to hear that. Grandfather, you don't need to be so stressed. Just go with the flow."
It was a difficult path for Hyunbin and Ye-Jin to rebuild their relationship, and taking care of how Yong Gun felt was essential.
"What else can I say? Just let them be, do whatever they want."
Yong Gun could only compromise. He sipped some tea and continued, "I won't cause trouble for Jennie and you as well, so don't worry about it. I know what to do. By the way, Kim Joon got Vice CEO Yue Hai to send another proposal over. It's very similar to Jisoo's."
Lisa instantly frowned. "Proposal? Is it regarding the South River project as well?"
"That's right. Let me find it for you. It's pretty interesting. However, I do find this a bit odd. It seems that Kim Joon and Wang Qin are in a serious conflict."
