I woke up that Wednesday morning wondering why time felt so slow and also very fast. It was just the third day as a 12th grader and I felt like...
I hardly paid attention to anything or anyone. The pop quiz and sports killed the little energy I managed to gather. I hadn't seen drake anywhere.
I settled down in the cafeteria to eat alone. Seth, Pedro and Mia were busy. Kelly had a fashion exhibition to compete for the role she was so bent on taking. I had to wait for reporter Harper to finish filming and sorting and that was gonna take a while.
I focused on the food which wasn't even entering my mouth. After spending five minutes chumming the spaghetti in my mouth I reached for a meatball but before I could grab it, someone already did.
"It's a fair trade!" Hot sexy looking chicken breast replaced my meatballs. "How have you been?" I missed his baritone and his presence. He sat beside me after placing down his tray. His mouth was filled with salad.
"Where have you been?" I asked curiously as I stole back my meatball after seeing another chicken breast on his plate.
"Work... Have you seen Melodie? Melanie is worried sick."
"They are having a meeting with the proprietor... It was announced during sports."
" Oh, we just came in now." He stole back my meatballs but this time it didn't enter his plate. It went straight to his mouth. He looked away from my bombastic side eye with a smirk. But turned back to me shyly with a puppy face.
I stopped myself from bursting into laughter maintaining my glare as he dug deep into my eyes.
"Fine take it back!" He brought his lips close and I couldn't keep the laugh in anymore. He was good at flirting.
Jeesh!
Thank goodness I was careful not to blush.
Another tray of spaghetti and meatballs landed on the table. Her midnight eyes watching us suspiciously wondering why we were laughing.
"Melodie could get us killed with heartache. How on earth didn't she wait for us to get back before going to school?" She sat whispered as she sat down beside drake.
"She is the president" Drake took a meatball from her plate and put in his mouth, "she obviously waited all morning. The raid lasted longer than expected. "
Melodie was crazy before he started chewing, she pressed it out of his mouth and threw it away, not minding who it hit. "I say this all the time, never ever rob me. Never!"
Her glare was so tense like she could kill him. "Never rob me Murphy, " she took his last chicken breast and threw away, "never!"
" Great! One chicken breast and one meatball wasted. I have none, you have 3 left."
" Never rob me Murphy. " She repeated again with a grin.
It felt kinda awkward sitting with them. I understood absolutely nothing about what they were saying. I just felt a bit jealous that they were that close.
Harper saved me when he joined us. I obviously was so sick of watching them munch up their food and chatting in Portuguese.
"You must be Drake Murphy?" He asked interrupting their conversation.
"You have the right person."
"Thank you bro. Erika wasn't in good shape yesterday and you sacrificed your time."
"It's no big deal. Beautiful people deserve favor from time to time." He smiled fixing his eyes on me. My cheeks grew warm but chilled down immediately I caught the smirk on Melanie's face as she stared at me.
