PHASE 6b: social media chaos

Mr Johnson came few minutes later to pick me up. He was the kindest soul on earth. He was more concerned about my health and safety than I was. I had told him few minutes ago that I ordered an Uber and he almost had a panic attack.

We were almost at Verizon when Alvin's call came in.

"Husky... No way I'm turning back. I am almost there." I ranted expecting a squabble or scolding from him but the voice from the other end of the phone wasn't his.

"Bitch, you don't need to inform him about every air you breathe. Quit clinging to him. He has a girlfriend and he is mine. He doesn't even like you. Stop forcing yourself on him and don't distract him from his studies because you were suspended..." I ended the call not wanting anymore nonsense.

"Alvin's girlfriend is crazy." Mr Johnson chuckled. "How in the world does he cope with her drama?"

" I have no time for her. She ain't going to ruin my day. "

" You are heading to Verizon. What gadget do you plan on buying?"

I hadn't even thought about that. All my mind wanted was another moment with Drake Murphy. What in the world? That was just day 3.

" A headset and earbuds." That would do. I have enough money to get it. Jarvis left a credit card for me.

"You once mentioned something about getting extra lights for your room." He took the final turn and we could see the store right in front.

"And some pretty lights."

I spotted Drake and Melanie in front of a black Tesla model s. They wore black sleeveless baggy basketball jerseys and black bucket hats. Melanie was in black shots (she loved bomb shots) and Drake wore black jeans.

I adored baggy designers. Alvin is a model so trust me when I say I have seen tons of baggy wears on cute dudes. But for some reason, baggy on Drake Murphy hit differently.

"The both of you could be mistaken for couple outfit models." I teased them as I came down from the car. "It's... I need to take a picture. Where's my phone?" I asked searching my purse after bidding Mr Johnson good bye.

"You don't take pictures of us outside." Melanie scoffed as she typed her phone. "I got my hopes high. Who knew it was just Erika?"

" Did you think I had a girlfriend? Babe you are high." He chuckled as he put his phone in his pocket before staring at me.

" Heya... Sorry for yesterday. You have never gone on suspension have you?"

Yeah, I have never even been detained. "No, it's ok. I needed the day off." I smiled as his eyes found mine.

"I really don't appreciate the tension between you guys. Get your butts into the building." Melanie scoffed as she grabbed her cross bag from the car.

The shopping went well. Drake got me a Sony WH-1000XM4. The latest Sony headset. He said he wanted to get it for me. That was the main reason for his visit to Verizon.

I got my room lightings and ear buds with my own cash. He and Melanie got themselves the trending Google pixel device.

We were done shopping . I couldn't help but steal glances at Drake as he stood beside me in the elevator. Why? I don't know, the only thing I was thinking of was him. He bought me a Sony WH-1000XM4. It just came out a week before that and was worth 352 freaking dollars. $352.42 and he takes it like he bought a biscuit for a friend. This is the dude Alvin warned me to stay away from.

We were just few steps out of the elevator when bright light flashed.
