Same Day...
"Danni, did WHAT?!" "Who is Danni?" "A bitch that Zac used to live and work with..." as Big Ma walked off to her closet.
"And clearly fucked." Big Ma stops, hearing Fatima's disdained voice. "Alright nah, Cupcake calm down..." "Big Ma, she said it was recent." she cried as Big Ma took her into her arms, giving her a squeeze.
"I highly doubt that Fatima." Amanda dismissed, cutting up green pepper to throw into the crockpot.
"Ms. Amanda.." "Hear me out Baby..." "Naw ain't no hea her out." Big Ma interrupted. "First it was Kay at Chuck E. Cheese, now this?!?!" she uttered angrily, going back to her closet.
"Like, I don't understand." Fatima cried. "What could you possibly gain from trying to sabotage him..." "Nothing..." "They bitter..." Big Ma chimed in. "But listen, Cupcake." she murmurs, taking her shot gun out, while pulling her bullet drawer out. "Don't listen tada words of some bitch ova ya man..." "I promise Big Ma I'm not I just..." "It still got to ya?" she asked, leaning on the barrel. "Yes.." Fatima huffed, leaning on the countertop island with her head dropped between her shoulders.
It's silent for a moment, as Big Ma continued to load her gun.
"Momma put that away!"
"Like I get it." Fatima uttered coming out of her thoughts, before Big Ma could respond to Amanda, "It was before me but it's all coming at me at once..." "Speak you're truth Cupcake." "I miss him." she blurted. "With Donovan out of jail, Kay on a "get back" tour. Imani acting weird..." tears start to fall.
"If he goes active duty, I don't know how I'm going to be able to handle him not being here when the world is against us...I need him." she voiced honestly. "He's my person. I mean besides Mia but it's different." "Trust me we know." Amanda and Big Ma agreed.
"It's like you want to have your own identity and not be so co-dependent but when your souls just click..." Amanda says, "Exactly..." Fatima confirmed. "I've never felt like this before." she said. "Not even with Brandon." she admitted.
"Trust me Cupcake, we've all been there. It's hard trying to live life without my Wesley but Zac will be home soon and you'll be able to finally lean on each other because I'm almost certain what you're feeling, he's feeling it too..." Big Ma assured her, putting the gun on the counter, embracing her again to let her cry it out.
Fatima wipes the tears from her eyes, sniffling subtly while sighing. "I hope so..."
Meanwhile
AirForce Base Basic Training
San Antonio, TX"Would you look at this nigga..." "Is he praying?!" "Yeah, he does that at least 5 times a day..." his roommate said. "Is he Muslim or sum'em?" "DUDE!" "That's a valid question." "Naw, I don't think it's nothing like that. I think he said he a Christian." his roommate shrugged.
"So what the fuck does that mean?" "I don't know." "Look, I don't like that weird ass nigga anyway. Let's just go out without him." "I at least want to ask. I mean he's a pretty cool dude..."
"Amen!" Zac uttered feeling refreshed, getting up from the floor with his bible in his hand.
Lately he's been feeling like a war has been a foot. Not just in his environment but at home as well. He knows something is up and the last time he spoke to Fatima they couldn't get too deep because he's confined to 30 second phone calls.
He's been struggling mentally being away from his family but just like his Big Ma taught him to do, he would go to God everyday praying for the strength to keep going.
"What's up Oliver, Yale, Greg?" he said acknowledging his roommate and their fellow line mates. "Whatch y'all got going on tonight?" "You coming out with us?!" Greg said, as if it wasn't a request but a demand.
