A/N: This is the longest chapter I have written. Ever. For anything. And it was surprisingly easy to write, so keep your eyes peeled bc I AM ON A ROLL.
Pictured above is Susan Coffey who I have chosen to play Lily Evans. I thought she was suitable, as she has those iconic green eyes and everything!
I hope you all are having a lovely day, and enjoy!

The next morning, at breakfast, Jazzy was still trying to comprehend what exactly had happened the night before. She had already recounted the ever so tragic tale to Lily and Marlene, and was currently mulling over the event.

"Like, we were just staring at Snape, and then the next thing I know, they start bloody duelling right in front of my face! It was downright horrifying! I though they were going to jinx each other into endless oblivion!"

Lily was shaking her head over her plate of eggs. "I still think you shouldn't be associating with Sirius in the first place. He can be a laugh, but he's just as bad as Potter, if not worse. He got you a detention for Merlin's sake!"

Jazzy sighed in exasperation. "I know, he's insane, like actually! But...I don't know...he is pretty fun...and he's nice to me!"

Marlene's eyebrows rose into her hair. "Jazzy. Listen. To. Me. Just because someone's nice to you does not mean they're a good person!"

With a shrug, Jazzy picked at her oatmeal. God-dang it. Oatmeal was super gross and sludgy, like Snape's soul. She had no idea why she had chosen to eat it it the first place.

"But cheer up, Jazz! The Halloween feast is tonight!" Lily smiled, nudging the sulking Gryffindor with her elbow. "I always look forward to the treacle tart, it's my absolute favourite!"

With a small smile, Jazzy nodded. "Okay. Alrighty. Yeah. Halloween. Cool."

After the trio had finished their meal, they hastened to the potions classroom in the dungeons. Jazzy had always thought that the rotund Professor Slughorn was like a jolly and especially greedy Santa Claus. He had the moustache for it, and the bouncing belly. He just was just a little bit of a dingus because he had obvious favourites (ahem, Lily ahem!) and Jazzy believed that it was outrageously unfair, but there wasn't really anything she could do about it.

And indeed, upon entering the room filled with an odd assortment of already bubbling cauldrons on each table, Slughorn bustled over to Lily with a giddy grin.

"I know you're going to love this lesson, dear Lily! We're examining some rather obscure potions today!" With a wink and a twitch of his bushy upper lip hair, Sluggy hurried back to the front of the room to greet the rest of the class.

"Good morning, students! Today we'll be having a lesson that's well past due, I think..."

Slughorn paused as all the Gryffindors and Slytherins gathered round their usual tables. Each table, Jazzy noted, had a cauldron with a simmering potion upon it. The potion currently on Jazzy, Lily and Marlene's table was emoting the most spectacular smell that had ever caressed Jazzy's nostrils. It smelt wonderfully like corn pops, pine smoke, and, strangely, herbal essences. It was heaven. Just pure heaven in the nostrils.

This lulled Jazzy into a feeling of deep happiness and calm-but...wait a second...

"Marls, where's Remus?" Questioned Jazzy, only now recognizing that her studious pal was, once again, missing in action.

Marlene shrugged. "He must be taking care of that rabid pet bunny of his. James mentioned something about his furry problem the other day."

But Jazzy replied snappily, "I don't think so, Marlene! He's always missing classes at least once a month and I'm getting quite worried-"
