Jesse led me through the trees and into a (meadow-ish) field filled with an assortment of flowers. I held my breath and surveyed my surroundings, taking in the amazing sight before me. Before I could ask Jesse what was going on, he strode to the center of it and laid down.
"What are you doing?" I asked warily.
Instead of answering me Jesse patted the spot next to him, gesturing me for me to lie down beside him. I sighed and occupied the spot.
For five minutes we laid beside each other in silence. Jesse was looking at the sky and I was looking at Jesse.
For the first time since I met him, I realized that Jesse was good looking. In fact, he was more than good looking. He was hot. He was the definition of what every girl wanted. He was muscular but he didn't have insane muscles. He was tall but not intimidating tall. His hair was an attractive length and his eyes were the most beautiful shade of green I've ever seen.
Jesse Peirce was perfection.
Oh, get a grip Sydney. He possibly murdered someone! You CANNOT have a crush on him.
"What are you thinking about?" Jesse rasped from beside me.
"Nothing." I muttered. I shook my head to clear my thoughts and turned my attention back to Jesse.
"You want to know something Sydney?" Jesse asked.
"What?" I asked him.
"You're kind of beautiful." He admitted.
"What!" I said again, this time louder.
"The way the sun is in your face, making your eyes come alive. The way your hair falls perfectly around your face, like a halo. The way you dress casually but walk around like you're a supermodel. You're really pretty. "Jesse told me.
I couldn't help the blush that spread across my face.
"Thanks." I smiled at him.
"No problem." He whispered.
Suddenly Jesse started to lean in, coming closer and closer to my face. I couldn't breathe when I realized what he was doing. As his eyes closed and his lips drifted closer to mine, warning bells sounded in my head.
Everything that everyone ever said about Jesse flooded into my mind.
"Stay away from him."
"He's dangerous."
"There's something not right about him."
And finally my own thoughts about Jesse came to mind.
He. Could. Be. A. Murderer! Why are you about to kiss him? Why are you even here right now? He's not a good person!
But neither am I.
But you haven't come close to killing someone before.
Finally I broke out of my thoughts and pushed Jesse away. I stood up and started pacing, counting in my head to calm me down.

"What do you think you're doing!" I snapped.
Jesse scratched the back on his neck and looked down. "I just-"
"You just what exactly." I cut him off and raised my eyebrow higher than the other.
"I don't know." Jesse replied.
"Well please refrain from doing things you don't know about around me." I exclaimed.
Jesse stood to his feet and stepped in my way, preventing me from my pacing movements. "What just happened? We were getting along perfectly and then you started to freak out."
"Why are we here?" I ignored his question and answered with one of my own.
"Answer my question!" Jesse growled.
"Why are we here?" I repeated and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Because I wanted to talk to you...in private." He said.
I rolled my eyes. "I know that. What I meant was what did you want to talk about? What was so important that you had to drag me away from everyone else?"
"What do you know about Brandon Faye?" Jesse asked.
"W-what are you talking about?" I stuttered. "Who is Brandon Faye?"
I could feel a cold sweat break out over my body. There was no way that Jesse could know that I knew about his past.
Right?
Now it was Jesse's turn to roll his eyes.
"I know that you looked me up Sydney, I'm not stupid. That's why you've been avoiding me for the last two days. You probably think I had something to dowith Brandon's death. Don't you?" Jesse explained.
I looked down, furiously trying to avoid his eyes.
"See I knew it." He groaned. "Would you believe me if I said I didn't do it?"
