"Sydney." I heard someone whisper my name.

I shook my head and turned around in my bed, trying to block out the annoying son of a bitch who tried to wake me up.

"Sydney, seriously, get up." The same person repeated.

"What!" I snapped and opened my eyes a crack. One of my roommates, a tall brunette named Sara, stood before me. "What do you want Sara?" I asked her.

"Jesse Peirce is outside our cabin asking to see you." She told me.

My eyes widened as the conversation that I had with Alyssa replayed in my head.

"You can tell him to go kill himself." I said.

"Alright." She muttered. I watched as she turned around and slid out of the cabin. In about a minute she came back inside with a bunch of flowers in her hand. I rolled my eyes as she approached me.

"Jesse wants to know if you're on your period or something. Oh, and he also wanted me to give you these and thank you for last night." Sara delivered the message with a wink at the end.

"Well you can tell him-"

"I'm not your damn messenger!" Sara cut me off.

I groaned. "You're right, I'll go talk to him myself."

I thanked Sara and rolled out of bed. I quickly threw on some clothes and brushed my teeth before going outside to meet with Jesse. When I got outside I saw Jesse sitting on the rail of the porch attached to my cabin.

"Hey beautiful." Jesse greeted and pushed himself off of the rail. When he tried to kiss me on the cheek I stopped him.

"We need to talk." I told him.

Jesse's smile fell.
"About what?" He asked, picking up on my tone of voice.

"I'll let you know when we get to the cabin." I explained and without waiting for his response I started walking.

----

The walk to cabin 13 was a silent one. I could see Jesse looking at me with a frown on his face from the corner of my eyes and I chose not to acknowledge it. When we reached the cabin before I could step inside Jesse stopped me.

"What's wrong?" He questioned.

"You killed Brandon Faye." I said nonchalantly.

Jesse's face turned white. He quickly opened the door to cabin 13 and pulled me inside.

"I already told you that I didn't kill him." Jesse hissed.

"Funny, cause that's not what Alyssa told me yesterday." I retorted.

"What?"

"Alyssa jumped me yesterday as I stepped outside of the cabin and told me the truth. Something that you obviously can't do." I rattled off.

"And you believe that bitch over me?" Jesse said incredulously.

Instead of replying to him I took out my phone and played the recording. When it had finished and Jesse remained silent, I started to back away from him.

"It's true isn't it?"

Jesse dropped his head. When he finally lifted it a few minutes later there was a weird, almost animalistic look on his face.

"I had to kill him Syd." Jesse spoke at last.

I gasped. It's one thing to suspect something, but it's a completely other issue when that thing that you suspected is confirmed.

"You're a murderer." I whispered. "'Leave me alone."

I tried to pass by Jesse but he blocked the door.

"No!" He shouted. "You're not going anywhere until you let me explain myself."

"I don't care what you have to say. You're messed up Jesse. You ended another human life, you're a monster." I started again for the door.

"Sit down." Jesse ordered.

"No!" I shouted.

"I SAID SIT THE HELL DOWN, OR SO HELP ME I WILL-" Jesse stopped himself and instead glared at me. When I saw the demented look on his face I decided to do what he said, so I sat down on the far end of the bed.

Jesse sighed and sat down next to me.

"Brandon and I used to be best friends," Jesse began, "and I mean best friends. We were like twins separated at birth. Brandon was always rich while my family and I didn't really have much. It never used to bother me until I saw him wasting money and I mean thousands of dollars on crap like sunglasses and watches. Like seriously he had a solid gold pair of aviator sunglasses." Jesse paused here, evidently lost in his thoughts.

"Go on." I prompted.

Jesse shook his head and resumed with his story. "So one day I asked him why he spent so much money on useless shit. And you know what he told me? 'It's not my fault that my parents did something with their lives and yours didn't. People like your family make sure that people like mine stay filthy rich.' When he said that I realized what a total asshole he was. So I decided I had to do something about it. I broke into his house one day and stole hundreds of dollars worth of jewelry and pawned them so that my parents could get the money. When he found out what I did he ended our friendship and tried to get back at me by dating my sister. He took things too far when she came home crying one night claiming that Brandon had raped her. I couldn't just sit there and let him get away with hurting my little sis, so I cornered him and beat him up. He chose to bring the matter to court like the pompous rich little boy that he was and I knew that the jury would take one look at me and convict me. I had to provide for my family so I did the only thing I could, I lured him out to the lake in the area and pushed him into the deep water, knowing that he couldn't swim. And he drowned."

"So you called your girlfriend Alyssato see if she could help you get out of your dangerous situation." I concluded. "And she got rid ofthe body so that the police couldn't do an autopsy and find your DNA on his body."

Jesse nodded, too ashamed to look me in these eyes.
