*Sydney's POV*
As the chaotic aftermath of Jesse's disturbance broke loose, I quickly and quietly grabbed my things and made my way towards the exit. No one paid any attention to me, as they were too focused on wondering who he could have possibly been singing to.

Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one who decided to end lunch early.
As I reached the door a figure came to stand right in front of me, blocking my path.

"Where do you think you're going?" Alyssa asked me, hand on her hip.
Wow, that's so intimidating. I thought sarcastically to myself as I met her scowl.

"Alyssa, darling... do we have to go over this again?" I asked, daring to repeat an old joke- something I never do. "I'm going out again."
"Shut up." She snapped. "You really think Jesse sang that song for you?" she asked, louder this time. People nearby glanced our way, but luckily it wasn't the whole mess hall.

"No, I don't think. I know."
"Well, you're wrong. Because that song is for me, and we're meeting tonight in our special place. You guys don't even have a place dumbass."

"Ouch," I said, putting a hand to my heart. "That hurt! As if I haven't been called a dumbass before!"
"Ladies..." An administrator said, walking over to us. She noticed Alyssa and her scowl deepened. "Alyssa, as a camp counselor you are supposed to behave more maturely. Surely you can do that as you are older than most of the campers here."
I choked back a laugh but a smile still seemed to escape. This caused the lady to turn towards me with a glare of my own. "And you, stop causing so much trouble. Why are you even leaving anyways?"
"I was going back to my cabin ma'am. I'm not feeling all that well, as I was trying to explain to her. She wouldn't let me go." I said, putting on a look of innocence.

"Well then... Alyssa, take her back to the cabin. There's no need to force her to stay when she's sick." She motioned with her hand. "Go on now. But return here when you finish Alyssa. You still have a shift here."
We both left the mess hall, silence falling upon us. When we were far enough away, I started to laugh. And laugh, and laugh, and laugh.
"Oh just shut up!" she growled.
"Why, Alyssa, that is not a mature response to make towards a camper." I said, mocking the accent the administrator had.

Suddenly she was right in front of me, a hand on my arm like before. I still hadn't healed from the bruise she'd given me, and now she was making it worse.
"I warned you. I told you to stay away from him." She hissed. I had a moment of déjà vu.
"Wait, wait, I think I've heard this one before."
"This isn't the time for jokes you stupid bitch!" she screamed.
"And this isn't the time to show just how much you've really lost it. You want to know who the song is for? Fine, go ask Jesse yourself when he gets out of trouble. But don't go all crazy ex girlfriend when he dumps you."
"He can't dump me. Not that he would want to anyway. We love each other."
I looked into her eyes and I saw it. I saw just why Jesse couldn't leave her, or why he couldn't tell me about how involved she really was in that murder. Because the girl is freaking insane.

It was in that moment, looking into her eyes, that I saw a real personification of evil. I knew right then and there that she would do anything to get what she wanted.
Even murdering Brandon Faye? I asked myself.

I didn't really know what else to say, so I took a chance and yanked my arm away from her, grimacing at the pain from her nail scratching my skin a little. I took off running, just waiting for her to follow.
She didn't though, or at least she didn't catch up with me. I climbed onto my bunk in the cabin, trying to get the image of those eyes out of my head.
Once I felt calm enough, I started towards Cabin 13 to meet Jesse, hoping he'd be out of the hot seat by now. The thought of meeting up with him actually made me feel better, and safe.
When I got there, he was sitting on the steps, smoking. He put it out when I came to sit next to him though, waving a hand through the air to get rid of the smoke.
"So, what'd you get for the speaker thing?"
He laughed. "Great way to start this off huh?" he shook his head. "I got cleaning duty this weekend. A full eight hours of spending time with the janitor."
"Enjoy that bonding time then." I told him, trying to picture him in a janitor suit. He still looked really hot in my head, and I pushed the thought away. "I'll try to visit." I promised.
"So... that means you forgive me?"

"That... depends. Why did you want me to meet you here? After what happened in our game..." I trailed off.
He ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah... I'm sorry about that. I was frustrated then. I was mad."
"And now?" I asked.
He looked right at me. "Look... When I didn't tell you before, about who really killed Brandon, it wasn't because I don't trust you or because I didn't want to tell you. It was because... I really can't. I'll go to jail if I tell anyone who did it. And I don't even know what else will happen with my family if I say anything. I can't let anything more happen to them." His eyes were pleading with me to understand.
I really felt like I knew who did it, but I decided not to ask him. In fact, I just let it go and nodded. "I get it, I do. I... I won't push anymore on that. But..." I reached out and grabbed his hand, giving it a small squeeze. "You aren't alone in this Jesse. Not anymore. You've got me now. We'll be partners in crime."

He laughed. A real laugh this time, not some sarcastic laugh that I hear so often around this place. "Wow, that was one of the dorkiest things I've heardyou say since meeting you."
"Hey, I told you that there were a lot of things you've got to learn about me."
"Have I earned the chance to learn those things yet?"
I leaned in to kiss him then, not bothering with an answer. But it wasn't like other kisses I'd had with guys. It was sweeter, and only lasted for a few seconds. When I did pull back I gave him a small smirk.
"Does that answer your question?"
