Two months had passed since Namjoon embarked on his journey to explore the corners of the kingdom, and with each passing day, Seokjin found himself missing the prince more than he anticipated. The absence of Namjoon had created a void that was slowly being filled with the laughter and antics of Taehyung, whose cheerful demeanor brightened the otherwise somber atmosphere of the palace.
One sunny afternoon, Taehyung had taken it upon himself to plan a surprise gathering for the family. He had enlisted the help of Jimin and Yoongi, both of whom were charmed by his enthusiasm. As they set up in the garden, Taehyung bounded around with an energy that was contagious.
"Come on, hyungs! We need more flowers over here!" he exclaimed, pointing to an empty spot. His bright smile illuminated the garden, making even the most mundane tasks seem exciting.
"Are you sure we need this many flowers?" Jimin chuckled, shaking his head as he handed Taehyung a bouquet of vibrant blooms. "What if they end up all over the place?"
"But it's a celebration!" Taehyung argued, determination shining in his eyes. "Namjoon hyung is coming back today! We have to make it special."
Yoongi, who was setting up the food table, rolled his eyes but couldn't suppress a smile. "You're right, Taehyung. But if you're going to order us around, at least make sure we're getting something out of it—like cake."
Taehyung threw his arms up in mock exasperation. "Fine! We'll get cake, but you have to do the music!"
"Deal!" Yoongi replied, shaking Taehyung's hand with a grin.
With laughter and chatter filling the air, the trio worked together, creating an inviting atmosphere that made everyone feel welcomed. As they finished, Taehyung stood in the middle of the garden, hands on his hips, surveying their work with a satisfied smile.
"This is perfect!" he declared. "Now all we need is everyone to show up. And of course, the prince!"
Later that day, as the sun began to set, casting golden rays across the sky, the sound of approaching horses could be heard. Taehyung's eyes lit up as he spotted Namjoon dismounting from his steed, looking tired but undeniably handsome in his travel-worn clothes.
"Namjoon hyung!" Taehyung called out, rushing forward to envelop him in a tight hug. "You're back! We missed you!"
Namjoon chuckled, a smile breaking through his exhaustion. "I missed you all too. What's this? A party?"
"Of course! You can't come back without a celebration," Taehyung replied, leading Namjoon to the garden where everyone awaited him.
As the family gathered, hugs and laughter filled the air. Namjoon felt the warmth of their welcome, but a flicker of sadness still lingered in his heart. He noticed Seokjin standing slightly apart from the group, his expression unreadable.
After the initial excitement had settled, Namjoon found himself standing next to Seokjin, the two of them facing each other in an awkward silence.
"Welcome back," Seokjin finally said, breaking the tension. His tone was polite, but Namjoon could sense the hesitance behind it.
"Thanks," Namjoon replied, forcing a smile. "Did you miss me?"
Seokjin shrugged, attempting to play it cool. "It was quiet without you around."
"Quiet? Or peaceful?" Namjoon shot back, a teasing glint in his eye.
Seokjin raised an eyebrow. "I can assure you it was not peaceful. Taehyung had us busy with his endless antics."
"Hey! I heard that!" Taehyung chimed in, playfully pouting as he rejoined them.
Namjoon chuckled, the tension between him and Seokjin slowly starting to dissolve. "I guess I should apologize for missing out on all the fun."
