After the absolute catastrophe that was dinner, Heeseung thought things couldn’t get any worse. As he wiped mashed potatoes off the walls and chairs, he glanced over at the six toddlers now scattered around the living room, each of them in varying states of food-covered disarray.

Sunghoon was sitting proudly on the couch, a small smear of mashed potatoes still on his cheek. Jungwon was hugging a pillow, his face finally clean after his run-in with Sunghoon’s food attack, but his eyes looked like they were still on the verge of tears. Ni-ki had managed to climb onto the coffee table and was waving his spoon triumphantly in the air like it was a sword, while Jake was chasing after him, laughing and shouting what sounded like, "Bro-co! Bro-co!" over and over again.

Jay, who had cried his way through dinner, had finally calmed down and was sitting on the floor, chewing on a piece of broccoli he found somewhere (where, Heeseung didn’t even want to know). Sunoo, on the other hand, was standing in the corner, eyeing the others cautiously like they were wild animals he needed to avoid at all costs.

Heeseung let out a long sigh. "Alright, guys," he said, clapping his hands to get their attention. "It’s time to get ready for bed, which means brushing our teeth!"

He expected a few groans or whines, but instead, all he got were blank stares from the six toddlers. Clearly, the concept of brushing teeth had been completely wiped from their two-year-old minds.

"Toothbrush!" Heeseung said again, this time holding up a colorful toothbrush to show them. The reaction was... mixed.

Jake, of course, was the first to react. His eyes lit up as he pointed at the toothbrush and shouted, "Bro-co!" as if it was the answer to everything. Ni-ki, meanwhile, had hopped off the coffee table and was already making a run for the bathroom, while Jay... well, Jay was still chewing on his broccoli, looking completely disinterested in anything toothbrush-related.

Heeseung rounded them up, one by one, and herded them into the bathroom like tiny, chaotic sheep. Sunoo followed reluctantly, clinging to Heeseung’s leg the entire time, while Sunghoon and Jungwon kept wandering off, their attention spans seemingly non-existent.

Once they were all in the bathroom, the real challenge began.

Heeseung lined them up in front of the sink, handing each of them a toothbrush. "Alright, let’s do this," he said, squeezing a tiny amount of toothpaste onto each brush. "Now, just brush your teeth like this, okay?" He demonstrated the motion, hoping it would be enough.

But instead of brushing, Jake immediately stuck his toothbrush into his mouth and started chewing on the bristles like it was a snack. "No, no, Jake! You’re not supposed to eat it!" Heeseung tried to explain, but Jake just stared at him, still happily gnawing away on the toothbrush.

Ni-ki, meanwhile, had already abandoned the idea of brushing his teeth and was now running in circles around the bathroom, his toothbrush held high like a baton. "Wheeee!" he shouted, racing past Heeseung, almost knocking over a bottle of shampoo.

"Ni-ki! Come back here!" Heeseung called after him, but Ni-ki was far too entertained by his own game to listen.

Sunghoon, always one to take things into his own hands, had started brushing, but instead of focusing on his teeth, he was aggressively scrubbing his face with the toothbrush. "No, Sunghoon! That’s for your teeth, not your face!" Heeseung exclaimed, rushing over to redirect Sunghoon’s efforts.

Meanwhile, Jungwon had somehow gotten toothpaste all over his hands and was now trying to wipe it off on Sunoo’s shirt, which led to Sunoo letting out a startled cry and backing away as fast as his tiny legs could carry him.

"Ahh! Sunoo, it’s okay! It’s just toothpaste!" Heeseung said, trying to calm the scared toddler. Sunoo, however, wasn’t having any of it. He let out another whimper and quickly ran to the far corner of the bathroom, hiding behind the laundry basket.

As if things couldn’t get any more chaotic, Jay — who had been silently chewing on his toothbrush — suddenly decided that toothpaste must taste like broccoli too. He took the toothbrush out of his mouth, stared at it for a moment, then brought it up to his nose and gave it a long sniff. Satisfied, he stuck out his tongue and started licking the toothpaste directly off the brush.

"Jay, no! You’re not supposed to eat that!" Heeseung groaned, rushing over to stop him, but Jay was too fast. Before Heeseung could intervene, Jay had already taken a big lick of the minty toothpaste and immediately scrunched up his face in disgust.

"Gah!" Jay spat out the toothpaste, his eyes watering as he shook his head violently, trying to get rid of the awful taste.

Heeseung sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Okay, this... this is not going how I imagined," he muttered under his breath.

Just then, Ni-ki came barreling back into the bathroom, still holding his toothbrush like a sword. He zoomed past Heeseung, narrowly missing him, and tripped over Jake’s foot. With a loud thud, Ni-ki hit the ground, but instead of crying, he just let out a giggle and continued to crawl around the bathroom, as if nothing had happened.

Sunghoon, seeing the opportunity, abandoned his toothbrush-face scrubbing technique and decided to follow Ni-ki’s lead. He dropped his toothbrush and started crawling on the floor, giggling as he chased after Ni-ki.

Jungwon, who had finally managed to clean the toothpaste off his hands (mostly by wiping it on the bathroom rug), decided that crawling around looked fun too and joined the chaos, leaving his toothbrush behind.

Jake, still chewing on his toothbrush, watched the others for a moment, then shrugged and hopped down from the step stool, joining in the crawling game.

Within seconds, the bathroom had turned into a chaotic crawling race, with Sunghoon, Ni-ki, Jungwon, and Jake all scurrying around on the floor like a pack of wild toddlers. Sunoo, still hiding behind the laundry basket, peeked out nervously, while Jay sat on the floor, still trying to recover from his toothpaste-tasting disaster.

Heeseung stood there in the middle of it all, his head spinning. Toothpaste was smeared on the walls, toothbrushes were discarded on the floor, and the toddlers were now treating the bathroom like their personal playground.

"Okay, that’s it!" Heeseung finally declared, his voice firm. "No more toothbrush time! We’re done!"

The toddlers looked up at him, their faces confused but still full of energy. Ni-ki let out a loud giggle, clearly unfazed by the announcement, and resumed his crawling race with Sunghoon.

Heeseung sighed, rubbing his temples as he watched the chaos unfold around him. "I’m never getting them to bed at this rate," he muttered to himself, but a small smile tugged at his lips despite the chaos.

At least the night wasn’t boring.
