---Heeseung had prepared himself for the challenge of caring for six toddlers over the past couple of days, but nothing could have prepared him for what was about to unfold. It was time for shower night, and already, Heeseung felt a wave of exhaustion just thinking about it. Each day had been a new adventure (or nightmare, depending on how you saw it), and tonight was proving to be no different.
"Alright, babies, it's time to get clean!" Heeseung announced as he wrangled his way through the scattered crayons, toys, and crumbs in the living room.
Six pairs of wide eyes turned to look at him. Jake had a crayon in his mouth, while Sunoo was tugging nervously at his tiny fingers, shyly hiding behind the couch.
"Clean!" Heeseung tried again, holding up a bath towel for emphasis. "Bath, water, scrub scrub?"
Sunghoon, with his trademark pout, blinked up at him innocently, while Jungwon giggled at nothing in particular, as if the idea of a bath was the funniest thing in the world. Jay, on the other hand, squinted at the towel suspiciously, as if it were some alien artifact.
Ni-ki? Well, Ni-ki had already started waddling toward the bathroom before Heeseung could say anything else. It seemed Ni-ki had his own plans for this evening. That should have been the first warning sign.
"Okay, let's do this in an orderly way," Heeseung said, bracing himself for what was to come.
---
Heeseung gathered the six of them in the bathroom, one by one. The first issue arose almost immediately. As soon as Ni-ki and Sunghoon entered the bathroom, they immediately started pulling at their diapers, grunting in frustration as they tried to remove them themselves.
"No, no, no! You guys, wait, I’ll help!" Heeseung said, hurrying over to stop them, but Ni-ki was already halfway there.
With a mischievous grin on his face, Ni-ki yanked off his diaper, letting it fall unceremoniously to the floor before darting out of the bathroom like a tiny streak of lightning, butt naked.
"Ni-ki!" Heeseung shouted, running after him, but Ni-ki was fast. The tiny toddler zoomed down the hallway, giggling wildly as his bare feet slapped against the wooden floor. Heeseung could barely keep up as Ni-ki zigzagged through the dorm, clearly enjoying the freedom of not wearing anything at all.
Back in the bathroom, chaos was brewing. Sunghoon, not wanting to be outdone by Ni-ki, had successfully removed his own diaper. His eyes twinkled with pride as he turned toward Jungwon, who was still standing there, somewhat confused by all the commotion.
"Won! Won!" Sunghoon babbled, grabbing at Jungwon's diaper to help him take it off, too.
Jungwon, always trusting Sunghoon, let him do it, and soon enough, Jungwon was diaper-less as well, though he seemed more confused than happy about it.
Meanwhile, Jake had somehow gotten a hold of Sunghoon’s discarded diaper and was now playing with it like it was a toy. He waved it around in the air, giggling, "Da-per! Da-per!" as he tossed it back and forth between his hands, completely oblivious to the mess unfolding around him.
Heeseung, still in pursuit of Ni-ki, could only shout helplessly from the hallway, “Jake, stop playing with the diaper! That’s not a toy!”
But Jake didn’t care; to him, the diaper was the most interesting thing in the world at that moment.

Back in the bathroom, Jay had found something else that caught his interest — a bottle of shampoo. The curious toddler, always ready to investigate, had somehow managed to twist the cap off the bottle. Now, with a determined look on his face, he leaned down to give it a taste.
“Jay! No!” Heeseung cried, rushing back into the bathroom just in time to snatch the shampoo bottle out of Jay’s hand. The toddler pouted, his cheeks puffed out in frustration as Heeseung moved the shampoo to a safe place, far out of reach.
“Shampoo is not for eating!” Heeseung scolded, gently wiping Jay’s mouth with a towel. Jay just blinked at him, clearly unbothered by the whole ordeal.
---
While all of this was happening, poor Sunoo had been sitting quietly in the corner, his eyes wide with anxiety. The mere sight of the water running in the bathtub was enough to send him into a near panic. The loud sound of the faucet, the wetness, the splashing — it all terrified him.
“Sunoo, it’s okay,” Heeseung said softly, noticing how Sunoo was trembling. He tried to reach out and coax him closer to the tub, but Sunoo recoiled, shaking his head furiously, his little face scrunching up in fear.
Heeseung crouched down in front of Sunoo, gently patting his back. “It’s just water. See? Look, it’s not scary.”
But Sunoo whimpered, his bottom lip quivering as he looked up at Heeseung with big, tearful eyes. Before Heeseung could reassure him further, Sunoo let out a wail, startling everyone in the room.
“Okay, okay! No water for now,” Heeseung said quickly, scooping Sunoo up in his arms to calm him down. The toddler clung to Heeseung, burying his face in his shirt, his small body trembling.
---
Just as Heeseung was trying to soothe Sunoo, he heard a distant giggle from the hallway. Ni-ki was still on the loose, running around the dorm, stark naked.
“Ni-ki, please!” Heeseung groaned, gently placing Sunoo down on the bathroom floor before darting out into the hallway once again.
Ni-ki had taken his adventure to the living room now, hiding behind the couch as Heeseung circled around, trying to catch him. The tiny toddler was clearly having the time of his life, squealing with laughter every time Heeseung got close.
“Ni-ki, if you come here, I’ll give you cookies!” Heeseung tried to bargain, but Ni-ki just giggled and ran the other way, his little legs carrying him faster than Heeseung ever thought possible for a toddler.
After what felt like an eternity, Heeseung finally managed to corner Ni-ki by the front door. Scooping him up, Heeseung carried the giggling child back to the bathroom, completely out of breath.
When they returned, the bathroom was in complete disarray. Jake was still tossing the diaper around, Sunghoon was attempting to stand up on his own but kept falling, and Jay was eyeing the shampoo bottle again with great interest. Jungwon, meanwhile, was sitting in a corner, cuddling his discarded diaper like it was a security blanket.
Heeseung sighed heavily, rubbing his forehead. This was supposed to be bath time, but it felt more like survival mode.
---
Eventually, after what felt like hours of chasing, bargaining, and soothing, Heeseung finally managed to get all the toddlers washed, though it was far from a smooth process. Sunoo had refused to go near the water, so Heeseung had to give him a gentle wipe-down with a damp cloth instead. Ni-ki and Sunghoon had tried multiple times to escape the tub, while Jake kept splashing water everywhere, laughing like it was the best game in the world.
Jay had gotten shampoo in his hair — but thankfully, not in his mouth — and Jungwon simply sat in the tub, playing quietly with a rubber duck while the chaos unfolded around him.
Once they were all cleaned and wrapped in towels, Heeseung sat down on the bathroom floor, completely drained. The six toddlers, however, seemed perfectly content, as if they hadn’t just caused the most chaotic bath time in the history of bath times.
“This is gonna be a long two weeks,” Heeseung muttered to himself as the toddlers toddled out of the bathroom, leaving wet footprints in their wake.
And so, another day in the world of toddler chaos came to an end — though Heeseung knew that with this bunch, it was only the beginning of what promised to be an endless series of unexpected challenges.
