Azul groaned as she tossed another piece of paper into her garbage can. The bell above the door of her shop opened. She looked into her husband's eyes. He dropped a folder on the counter in front of her.

"I'm not."

"My mom's name is Victoria. I know Torin already ran his fucking mouth to you. That's not the reason why I'm sitting here telling you." He scoffed. "You was right."

"I was right?"

He frowned. "Don't do that Azul. I'm waving my fucking blue flag. Your ass could have just told me you was already pregnant."

"You listened to my conversation with my brother in law and best friend?" She folded her arms.

"No. Your brother in law called me and cussed me out. He's one of the only motherfuckers who can get to me. Torin knows things about me that nobody else does."

"He didn't like that as my wife, he was giving you new information. We had a long discussion about my role in the cartel. But a longer one about my role as your husband."

"I'm going to make it clear to you as your husband, we have more than love. Our relationship wasn't built off of that. It was built off of the fact that we trusted each other."

"We gave each other shit without having to speak on it. You respected me. I wasn't the middle of some shit for you. I'm always the middle for everybody. But with you I just got to be me." He looked into her eyes.

"We're going to be parents. You won't make excuses for me. I'm going to get my shit together. Without you having to be on my back. I'm going to do it." He placed his hands on the counter.

Azul stared at him. "I don't know what to say."

"Open the folder." She looked down at it and put her pencil down. Azul opened the folder. Her eyes scanned over the pictures inside. Naeem wrapped his arm around her after walking around the counter.

He took a deep breath as his head landed on top of hers. "That's my mother. Pictures of me and Torin as well. She's Akbar's sister." Azul rubbed over her husband's child like face.

"Look at you." She looked over to him. "Thank you for sharing this with me."

"Your thanking me?" He frowned.

"Yes. Because you're doing something to show me better. Even though Torin had to get on you as well. You still took what I was feeling and your doing something about it. That makes me feel heard."
