Nani nervously set out a plate on her dining room table. She bit her bottom lip looking over everything she had set up. Asad had agreed to cook and it smelled good.

"Stop being nervous. Nora already loves you." Asad spoke as he leaned against the doorway.

"How when she doesn't know me?"

"You came from me. I've had a connection to you no matter where you were or where I was." Nora spoke as she appeared behind Asad. "Hi Naomi."

"Hi mom." Nani sighed. "I'm sorry I've been such a bitch and haven't invited you over."

"You always were an independent little thing. Didn't need nothing or nobody in your way." Nora smiled. "It's why I got this." Nora moved her hair to the side showing a butterfly tattoo. Nani smiled.

She waited until Nora was looking at her to turn her head. Nora's eyes watered. "Well look at that." Nora smiled. "Dinner smells really good. You cook?"

"I wanted to lie and tell you I did. Asad was going to play it off like it was so good too."

Nora laughed. "I'll let you in on a little secret, I can't cook worth a damn. Always had a cook." Naomi smiled. She moved away from where she was to be by Nora. Nani hugged her and Nora hugged her right back.

Asad left the dining room to give them some privacy. "Points to a man who can cook huh?" Nora asked as she pulled away. Her fingers moved over the tears on Nani's face. "Oh Nani. You don't have a thing to feel bad about."

"You've been alone." Nani whispered.

"I was. Not for ever though. The memories I have with you, those got me through." Nora smiled. "But we're back together now. I don't want to dampen this time with bad memories or negative thoughts. You're married."

"I am. Asad is like my best friend. He's patient. Funny. Can cook. Just a good husband all around."

"You had me at he's patient." Nora shrugged and they both laughed. "How'd you two meet?"

"Do you want a glass of wine? Let's sit in the living room and have dinner. This feels too formal, like your some stranger." Nani grabbed Nora's hand. She happily let her lead her back to her kitchen.

Asad held up two wine glasses. They both took one. "Dinner should be done soon. I'll bring it to yall."

"In the living room." Nani explained and he nodded.

"Alright."

Nani turned around and Nora followed her. They stepped into the living room and both took a seat on the couch. "So how did you meet Asad?" Nora asked getting more comfortable.
