Asad sat down across from Nani. "My fault I'm late." He spoke as he took his seat. She continued to eat her food as if she didn't hear him. He said a quick prayer over his food before grabbing a piece of chicken.

"How was your day?" He spoke trying to spark something in the air other than the tension radiating from Nani. Asad was starting to grow irritated with how uncomfortable she was making his home.

She didn't speak and he nodded his head. Asad rose to his feet. "A nigga don't got time to come home and deal with your attitude on top of the shit I deal with outside the crib."

"So don't deal with it." She shrugged.

"You making the crib uncomfortable as fuck. Mad about some shit that don't even concern you."

"My husband let me walk him into."

"What I needed to walk into." He cut her off. "I don't need your protection from Kenneth. He's apart of the fucking cartel." Asad finally admitted making her head whip in his direction.

"What you think I'm stupid or something?" He snapped at her and she mugged him.

"I could ask you the same fucking thing. You think I couldn't tell that wasn't your first time meeting him. He touched you. You would never let a motherfucker you don't know touch you." She scoffed.

"You want me to accept you so bad, but you don't tell me the shit I need to know. Like why you'rere coming in here late for dinner."

"I was watching after the prosecutor. Naeem deemed him a dead man walking. Which means he wants him gone before the week is over." Asad took his seat.

"And you have to kill him? That's a." She stopped and looked into his eyes. "Asad you could go to a federal prison if you got caught."

"I would have to get caught." He shrugged. "A nigga know what he doing. This ain't my first time doing this shit." He scoffed. "Plus Naeem ain't the only one who wants him dead. This shit is so much deeper than what you think."

"So explain it to me."

"For what? So you can go run and tell the cops? You would." He laughed. "To save your own ass."

"I told you from the jump I wasn't sure none of this was for me. But you insisted we get married anyways."

"So Naeem wouldn't kill you. Once you're in the family there is no out. It don't matter if you was just a friend of the family. If you ran and told the cops one detail about us, he would make me kill you Nani."
