Author's pov
It was a fine, quiet morning, the sun gently creeping through the curtains, but that peace was shattered by the blaring sound of the alarm. She stirred, a slight groan escaping her lips as she reached out with one hand, blindly hitting the snooze button before sinking back into her soft pillow. The world could wait. She was in no rush.
But fate had other plans, and not long after, her phone rang loudly. Groaning again, she lazily picked it up without a second thought, eyes still half-closed. “Hello…?” she mumbled into the phone, voice groggy with sleep. But the second she heard the panick scream of her best friend on the other end, her eyes shot wide open, and in her sleepy shock, she slipped right off the bed.
“You’re still sleeping? Did you forget you have your interview today?!”
Sighing as she sat up on the floor, the girl replied, “Breathe, girl. I’ve got my interview at office at 10, okay? I didn’t forget. So, don’t worry.” She stood up, brushing herself off with a casual smile. “I’ll totally ace that interview. I know you’re just looking out for me, but relax, babe.”
Her best friend let out a long, worried sigh. “I know you’ll do great, but you also know I can’t be there to support you in person today. That’s what’s stressing me out.”
“Okay, mama bear,” she teased, her tone light and comforting, “stop worrying about me so much. If I keep talking to you, I’ll end up late. So, bye!” Without giving her friend a chance to respond, she hung up and began to get ready for her big day.
A few minutes later, she stood in front of her mirror, applying her makeup. Her reflection stared back at her, captivating, almost as if she were meeting her own heroine in the glass. Her face was a masterpiece, effortlessly radiant with or without makeup, but today, she wanted to add a touch of polish to match her confidence.
Her large, almond-shaped velvety chocolate brown, deep and inviting eyes sparkled even in the dim morning light, framed by lashes long enough to cast delicate shadows. They were the kind of eyes that told a thousand stories, passion, adventure, and untamed curiosity ,playful but with a hint of mischief, daring anyone to look closer. Her brows were arched, perfectly defined, giving her a look of quiet power—like she knew exactly what she was capable of and was ready to own it.
The depth of their color was mesmerizing, dark enough to seem endless yet soft enough to feel welcoming, like they held secrets but were willing to share them with the right person. Paired with her perfectly arched brows, those chocolate brown eyes spoke of quiet strength and confidence, effortlessly commanding attention without a single word.
Her smooth, sun-kissed skin glowed with a warmth that seemed to radiate from within, with soft cheeks that carried a natural flush, like she’d just laughed a little too hard at a joke. Her lips, full and naturally tinted, curved into a smile that could either charm or disarm with ease.
