Now that Char was involved it all felt a bit easier on Siobhan. Vivian still couldn't risk coming back to town or having direct contact with Siobhan so having Charlotte to talk to and being able call Vivian with her phone made it a lot easier.
Roger had been a lot more distant recently and barely said a word to Siobhan at all, it was suspicious but Siobhan took it as a good thing since he'd stop controlling her every move and she could stay out for much longer with no consequences except an angry glance when she walked through the door.
"Siobhan, Vivian told me about the files you found on Roger's computer, this Charles Roberts.."
"You think he could be Mia's dad?"
"I mean, there's a good chance. I really think we'd benefit from bringing Mia into this."
"No. The less people that know, the better. I know Mia was involved with Roger for years but it's risky involving her again. Plus there is a chance Charles isn't related to her."
"But you know there's a good chance.. it makes sense, doesn't it?"
Siobhan knew Mia was bound to find out and get involved but truthfully she didn't think she was strong enough to tell the redhead herself. Not only would another person find out about how Roger treated her but Mia would have to hear possibly some of the worst news of her life from one of her least favourite women.
"I'm sorry for bringing it up, I know you don't want many people knowing but Mia's starting to get suspicious. She'll find out on her own eventually Siobhan."
"I know, I'd rather she find out in her own time rather than me telling her. I don't want to put either of us through that."
Char was slightly surprised, she thought Siobhan didn't care about Mia but her words seemed almost empathetic. Then it hit her, Siobhan was going to the bridge that night and she didn't want that for Mia as well.
"Siobhan.."
"Yes, Charlotte?"
"Are you okay?"
Now it was Siobhan's turn to look over in sunrise. The blonde knew she wasn't but how could she possibly tell Charlotte that?
"I'm fine. I need to go."
Siobhan stood and picked up her handbag. She rushed out of the cafe but tried to act casual, Char just watched her leave with sadness in her eyes.
The next few days Charlotte didn't hear anything from Siobhan, she was worried but didn't feel like she could tell anyone. When Char was going through her divorce she didn't want anyone to know she was in a vulnerable state or burden them with her problems. Finding out everything that was happening to Siobhan made her realise how similar they are, and she really didn't want to betray Siobhan by telling someone, especially Mia. But she had to.
"HE WHAT."
Mia stormed to the front door of Roger's mansion. Instead of ringing the doorbell she slammed on the hard wood with her fist and waited impatiently as Siobhan came to the door.
"WHERE IS HE"
Siobhan was taken aback, when she saw Charlotte stood behind Mia looking guilty she pieced it together and allowed them inside.
"Siobhan, I am so so so so so-"
"It's okay. We haven't spoken in almost a week, you were right to be worried." Siobhan cut her off calmly.
She had spent the last couple days retreated in her bedroom, desperately trying to figure out how to get rid of Roger. She couldn't bear the thought of seeing Charlotte again, thinking she'd get questioned and attacked for disappearing but compared to Mia, Charlotte didn't seem so scary anymore.
"Roger is out right now. He'll be back really soon"
The door slammed the second Siobhan finished her sentence, Roger walked in and almost ignored Siobhan. He only stopped when Mia was right in front of him, her fist in his face.
"WHAT THE HELL?" Roger screamed, his nose immediately started running blood like a tap. Normally Char would stop Mia and tend to the injured, this time, she just watched with ever so slight satisfaction. Siobhan watched with a huge grin.
Mia beat Roger so much he was practically purple and red all over. She took no mercy and since she used nothing but her fists, she was completely satisfied in a few minutes.
Char ran over with a tissue and cleaned the blood off her girlfriend's knuckles, wiping a few drops off her face they kissed and watched as Siobhan walked over. The women slightly expected her to either help him up in fear or just stand there assessing him. Instead, she kicked him in the nuts with a smile.
"Hell yeah!" Char couldn't resist from shouting, she was so proud of how far Siobhan had come.
The women waited a good half-hour before calling 999, they claimed they just walked in and saw him like that and the officers didn't even question it, they knew Roger had alot of sketchy stuff going on.
Charlotte invited Siobhan to stay with them while Roger was away since he'd never know and she happily agreed. None of them ended up sleeping, instead Mia took Roger's computer with them and stayed up all night looking for more proof, Char staying up to help look through more printed documents and supply coffee. Siobhan on the other hand stayed on face time with Vivian, explaining what happened to Roger in an attempt to cheer her up slightly from Jamie's death.
"He's away now and like I said, I'm with Mia and Charlotte!" Siobhan finished, tilting the phone to show Mia and Char, who both waved quickly and turned back around to continue working.
"That's amazing! He deserves so much worse.. God, wait till I can come back. That man will pay" Vivian laughed. Siobhan knew she wasn't joking but Viv would rather laugh than admit Siobhan's efforts were in vain, she didn't feel better.
She lost her son after all
