I told them to wait outside by the door so I could ask for permission first. I walked in and Mary Ann looked very worried. She saw me and ran towards me and hugged me.
"Alec told me what happened. I hope you're okay."
I sat down while I wrote, 'I'm okay now, even great, I didn't mean to worry you.'
She reached over and tucked my hair behind my ear, "It's my job to worry sweetie."
'Well actually the boys where the ones who also helped me and I was wondering if they could spend the night?'
"You know I bet it's the whole not talking mysterious thing you got going on that's attracting them." She looked deep in thought trying to find a reasonable explanation as to why my friends were only guys.
'I'm probably some sort of silent siren, luring in lost sailors with my hidden voice.'
"Maybe, but I want to talk to them first."
'I'll go get them!'
I walked to the door and I smiled at them and they all walked in.
"Boys come here, Emory go start making snacks."
I walked into the kitchen and popped in some popcorn into the microwave. That's as good as that was getting. I did pull out our secret tub of Redvines and then pulled out several drinks for them to choose.
They all came into the kitchen and I sort of forgot that they needed some clothes to sleep in.
"Well, Matt, Oliver, Jace, and I need to go home and get something to sleep in and all our soccer stuff so we can head out as soon as we leave your house tomorrow, so we are going to go pick up our stuff."
'Okay, you guys better come back or else.'
"Calm down kitten." Oh Jace you don't know what you just got yourself into.
"Trust me, you don't want to mess with her."
'Whatever.'
They all left except for Luca, so Luca and I went upstairs.
We went straight towards my closet and he put on some pj bottoms and a t shirt and I did the same.
"I want to talk to you Emory."
Dang. This was serious, he never called me by my full name.
We both sat down on my bed and faced each other.
"Are you okay? You can tell me. If not, I can visit more often or we can FaceTime more? I just want you to be okay Emy."
I reached over and hugged him, he would always be my most treasured friend.
'I promise you that I'm fine here, but you should still visit every now and then.'
"You're not completely okay, I'm not hearing your beautiful voice yet."
'Wait are you referring to the beautiful voice that you used to call annoying?'
"I just miss you Emy, I miss the girl who would never shut up and always bother me which her incessant talking. And the girl who would sing with me and the girl who could make anybody happy with her laugh."
'I miss that too, I'm working on it, I promise.'
"I love you Emy."
'I know.'
He then playfully hit me and we both went downstairs and started setting up the blankets in the living room. We also piled on a massive heap of pillows and blankets since we were all most likely sleeping on the floor. There was a knock on the door and it was the rest of them.
