The rest of the day seemed pretty normal and I was a lot happier. Nothing more had gone wrong.
I think it was about two or three when Mary Ann and Al called down both Alec and I.
"It's time for you to see your surprise."
I totally forgot about that! I was really bad at guessing so I was just waiting to see. Alec was practically jumping up and down.
"We know you guys are responsible and we thought we couldn't just get you one because we thought each of you should have one." Now Mary Ann was scaring me.
Then Al pushed forward a small box.
I heard something, it sounded like something scratching the box.
He opened the box and I saw the cutest little puppies I've ever seen. They got us puppies?!?!
I looked down and they were two golden retrievers."Em, how about we let them choose, they can let them out and then whoever they walk to gets them."
Obviously the shy one walked towards me. I scooped him up and was dying at how cute he was. They were both boys. Now for the name picking part.
Alec immediately named his Riley and I was contemplating on what to name my bundle of cuteness when I knew. I named him Sammy.
We both hugged Mary Ann and Al as a thank you.
"They are potty trained and have had their shots, take care of them."
We both agreed that we would and Alec took his upstairs to show him his room.
I put him down and wrote out, 'Can I take him for a walk?'
"Yes, here's his leash."
I was so excited that I finally had a walking buddy. I was just going to walk him around the block once because he was still a puppy.
We were walking for not even a minute when Sammy started barking at someone. I couldn't really tell him to stop so I kneeled down and patted his head but he kept barking. I looked up and realized who he was barking at, it was Andy.
I loved this dog already. It looked like it was getting ready to attack, aw I had one of those dogs who thought they were huge and mighty but were actually the smallest things.
"You got a puppy?"
I nodded yes and was starting to walk away with Sammy, when Andy said something, "Where's Luca?"
I got my phone out, 'He left.'
"Oh I'm sorry."
'Yeah me too.'
Well this was awkward. So I avoided the awkward situation and walked away. It was both a great and terrible idea deciding to walk Sammy. He would random start chasing things and barking at everything that moved. It was really amusing.
We reached my house and I went up and showed him to my room.
Mary Ann and Al had bought both of them little doggy beds and I tried to test it out to see if Sammy would actually sleep in his bed or mine.
He stared at his bed and got on it and walked in circles until he found a spot he liked and then he looked at me with his tongue open. He was truly adorable.
I finished my homework and decided to fall asleep. This time when I woke up it was by a puppy barking. It wasn't Sammy so I walked into Alec's room and you could see him tossing and turning and looking distressed and it was Riley barking. Aw he was trying to help Alec, these puppies are the best. I woke Alec up before the nightmares woke him up. He passed out again and this time Riley jumped onto his bed. This dog was going to be really useful.
