Moriko Hirano survived a demon attack on her family, thanks to the Water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka. Ever since, she's been distant from others, except her husband Giyu and their family.
After meeting Tanjiro Kamado, Will Moriko ever get over her fears o...
I do my best to deflect some of the attacks with my fourth form but a few still get to me.
"Soon you will join your husband!" The demon cackles, hitting me with flames on my stomach.
I manage to dodge his next thunder attack and assume a steady stance, trying to ignore the attacks aimed at me.
"Element Breathing, Ninth Form," I say lowly, "Complete Emptiness." I then dash forwards with blinding speeds and reach the demon, causing it to stare at me in shock. I have to finish it, now! Before I possibly lose consciousness. I go to swing at it but the demon dodges just in time and I stagger.
"You mi—!" It goes to say but I was ready with my final attack.
"Element Breathing, Third Form: Cruel Drowning!" I slash at the demon in multiple angles, cutting off its arms and legs, its left ear, before I finally manage to sever its head.
I stand there, breathing heavily, watching as the demons' body hits the ground and starts to disintegrate.
I flick the large amount of blood off my katana before sheathing it and turning around to find Giyu is still unconscious. Choking back a sob, I stagger over to him and drop to my knees, pulling Giyu against me.
"Yu-kun," I murmur as I caress his cheek.
Then I end up passing out next to him due to my head wound and the exhaustion from the flashbacks earlier.
🗡️🗡️🗡️
I find myself waking up to a white ceiling and feel the roughness of bandages wrapped around me.
"I'm in the infirmary, again," I think in exasperation, getting a sense of déjà vu from when I first met Giyu.
"Mori-chan! You're awake!" A relieved voice exclaims and I get jumped on by two small bodies before I even have the chance to sit up.
"Mummy!!" Mamoru and Aiko exclaim.
I sit up and look to see Aiko and Mamoru on my bed, Giyu sitting in the chair next to me with Makoto in his lap. I hug Aiko and Mamoru. Giyu was the one who spoke.
The youngest child holds out his arms for me and a smile twitches my lips before I take him from Giyu and hug him tightly.
"You're healed!" I say as I note that Giyu's chest is now fully healed. He nods as he smiles.
"All thanks to Kocho. I woke up a week before you and Tanjiro and the others were released in a few days. You've been out for two weeks."
My eyes jerk wide as I exclaim, "Two weeks?! What happened?"
"Kocho said it was mostly due to the overwhelming flow of flashbacks from the night your parents were killed, as well as the amount of blood you'd lost in the recent battle. How are you feeling now?"
"A bit better, I guess," I reply with a shrug.
"We were so worried when you and dad were brought back, mummy," Says Aiko, sniffling. "Especially your head wound. I thought..."
I pull them against my chest as well as I say, "I'm sore for worrying you like that. I hope it won't happen again anytime soon. But I'll be fine now, I promise."
Giyu tells me, "I'll go let Kocho know you're awake." He gets up to go get the Insect Hashira, while I stay here with our kids.
🗡️🗡️🗡️
I say as I stand before the remaining Hashira, Uzui, Iguro, Shinazugawa, Tokito, Himejima, Kocho, Kanroji, and Giyu, Oyakata-sama behind me on the porch one and a half weeks later, "I just want all of you to know, that, despite your agreement that I should become a Hashira, I'm still not going to even though I no longer blame myself for my parents' deaths." A smile stretches across my features. "I feel as though I can finally move on."

Shinazugawa says as Kanroji holds her fists under her chin with a big smile on her features, "I should've known you'd say that."
Kocho chides him as Giyu glares at him, "Now, now, Shinazugawa, it is Hirano's decision, and we should respect it."
"I'm sorry, everyone, but my decision is final. I'm still looking forward to working with all of you," I say with a bow.
