Moriko's P. O. V:I drop to my knees but Giyu is there to catch me and holds me against him, saying something like "Drown it out! Block it out, Mori-chan!"
I couldn't really focus over the rush of bad memories, but I could see Tanjiro, who has arrived, gazing at me in concern as Inosuke is fighting the demon. Zenitsu only attacks after the demon knocks him out.
"Is she okay, Tomioka-san?!" Tanjiro asks worriedly as I continue to clutch my head and shake against him. He sets down the box and Nezuko steps out. Upon seeing me in this state, she rushes over and grunts worriedly.
"She's having flashbacks about that night, from the looks of it," Replies Giyu worriedly. "I can't seem to bring her out of it this time."
Tanjiro says, "Focus on helping Hirano-san. We'll hold off the demon."
I vaguely see Giyu nodding his head as the red haired boy hurried off to battle the demon. His sister remains with me and she helps Giyu to bring me out of it. Giyu flicks his striking blue eyes down to me.
"Water Surface Slash!" Tanjiro calls as he tries to behead the demon. Zenitsu uses his First Form: Thunderclap and Slash while Inosuke uses his Second Form Slice to slash the demon in an x.
The demon dances away and blasts a stream of fire at them, but they narrowly dodge and Zenitsu attacks.
"Mori-chan, can you hear me?" Giyu asks frantically, gripping my shoulders firmly as I try to focus on his face. "Focus on me. Drown it out! I know you can. You're strong."
The flashbacks continue to swirl violently in my mind, and the memory of the amount of blood, both from myself and my parents, was too much. I cling onto Giyu's mismatched haori and scream, tears dripping down my face.
Giyu just holds me tightly as I try to snap myself out of it.
Inosuke uses his Devour technique as he slashes twice horizontally towards the demon's throat, and Tanjiro uses Flowing Dance. Zenitsu slashes at the demon but he throws a few large rocks of earth at them. One hits Inosuke and the other Tanjiro.
The demon hits Zenitsu with a small blast of fire but he still fights on.
I feel Giyu stroking my blonde hair to try to calm me down as he continues to talk soothingly to me, his voice barely drowning out the fighting.
I bury my face in Giyu's shirt as I shake and try to push back the flashbacks, but they keep coming. It was so overwhelming, especially since I've kept them at bay for the last two years.
The screams of my parents reverberate through my mind, and then I was screaming.
Inosuke says with a glance at me, "This doesn't look good, you guys."
"I hear agonising screaming," Says Zenitsu, gazing towards me while still unconscious.
"She's having flashbacks about the night her parents were killed," Tanjiro says softly.
"Flashbacks? That's not good!" The demon chuckles before he dashed past the boys, startling Tanjiro. "Elemental Wrath: Thunder!"
I was vaguely aware of electricity shooting towards me. Then Giyu shoves me to the ground and I see him standing in front of me, taking the hit of the thunder attack. He screams as it hits him and I could only stare with a stunned expression on my features, tears frozen on my cheeks.
The attack dies down I scramble up to catch my husband as he collapses. "G-Giyu! Why... Why did you do that?" I stutter.
"B-Because... you're my wife, and it's my duty to protect you," He responds, cupping my cheek and caressing it. "I'd give my life for you, no matter what. And, no matter what you may think, I've always seen you as a strong warrior, someone capable of becoming a great Hashira. You shouldn't let your fears overtake you, Mori-chan."
"No... Yu-kun, don't!" I sob, gripping his hand on my face as I shake my head minutely. Tanjiro and Inosuke are staring at my husband in shock. "You have children to go home to. And... And you promised you'd never leave me."
"As long as I know you're safe, Mori-chan, I'll be happy. I love you," Giyu murmurs.
The tears won't stop now as his hand drops from my face. "I love you, too, Yu-kun."
I hang my head as the demon laughs. "Aw, look at that! Dying in your arms! How romantic! Soon, you'll get to join him, Princess of Elements!"
"There's a reason I never considered myself to be worthy of being Hashira," I say in too quiet of a tone, causing everyone to gaze at me. "It's because of what happened that night. But... what you just did...." I jerk my head up to give the demon the darkest glare I could muster with a shadow over my eyes that causes Tanjiro, Inosuke and even Zenitsu to flinch. ".... What you just did is unforgivable!! You should never have hurt my husband like that in front of me, you teme!!" I jump to my feet and grab my silver nichirin katana. "Element Breathing, Seventh Form: Voice of the Wind!"
I leap up and slash my sword, sending out a powerful gale of wind at the demon. It grunts as it's hit with the sharp wind.
"Element Breathing, Second Form: Earth and Stone Earthquake!" As I come down in front of my unconscious husband, I ram my blade into the earth and the ground breaks up towards the demon, shocking the lower ranked Demon Slayers.
