Sloane was lounging on her bed, just woken up only about an hour ago, she was scrolling through her phone when Haven burst into the room with a grin so wide like she was excited to talk about something. Haven was rarely this excited unless she had some plan that would need convincing.

"Hey," Haven said, dropping herself onto the bed beside Sloane. "I'm so happy you're up I wanted to ask you something but you were sleep this morning."

Sloane gave her a sideways glance, not entirely convinced. "What do you want to ask me...?"

Haven leaned back, stretching her arms behind her head. "You know how I was partying with KK and Nika right? Well, last night, we were talking, and they brought up this idea about taking a trip. Like, in about a month or so."

Sloane's brows furrowed. "A trip?"

"Yeah, like an actual trip," Haven continued, her excitement spilling over. "Somewhere hot, Rent an Airbnb. You, me, the basketball team, and, of course, Paige."

Sloane felt her stomach tighten at the mention of Paige. She hadn't expected to hear Paige's name so soon, especially in the context of a trip. "Are you serious?" Sloane asked, sitting up. "Paige too?"

Haven nodded enthusiastically. "Yup. KK and Nika were saying it's a great idea because you and Paige are mutuals now, so why not? We're all in the same circle, and we should make some good memories. Besides, we could all use a break."

Sloane's mind raced. After everything that had happened? The thought of being around her so soon made her uneasy, but part of her also felt an undeniable pull. She missed her, more than she wanted to admit and maybe something could happen between them.

"I don't know," Sloane murmured, running a hand through her hair. "We're kind of awkward.."

"Exactly," Haven said, leaning closer. "This trip could be the perfect opportunity to fix that. Get out of town, relax, have fun, figure things out even more between you two. Don't let one argument ruin your relationship and maybe yall can get back."

Sloane sighed. Haven always knew how to push her in the right direction, but this felt like a lot. "Where are we even going?"

"Somewhere warm! KK was talking about maybe Florida or Miami or somewhere with a beach," Haven replied. "They're already checking out Airbnbs. We'll split the cost, so it's not a big deal."

Sloane exhaled, considering the possibility. A trip did sound nice. Warm weather, friends, and maybe some space to breathe. "I guess it could be fun," she said, the idea starting to grow on her. "Alright, If something bad happens I'm blaming you."

Haven laughed, throwing her arms around Sloane in a mock hug. "Bet! I don't think it'll be bad though. and i think maybe yall  could even maybe get back.

PAIGES POV

Paige was sitting in the living area of her dorm when KK and Nika came in, plopping down on the couch beside her. KK had that mischievous look on her face, the one that always meant she was about to say something wild.

"Okay, so boom," KK started, leaning forward. "We were talking to Haven last night at the party, and we came up with this idea."

Paige raised an eyebrow, already suspicious. "What kind of idea?"

"A trip," Nika chimed in, grinning. "Like, a real vacation. We're thinking sometime next month, rent an Airbnb, go somewhere hot, All of us. The whole team, plus Haven and Sloane."

Paige's heart skipped a beat at the mention of Sloane. Last night's conversation with her had been heavy—emotional, to say the least. She hadn't expected to hear about any plans involving them both so soon, especially after they'd agreed to take a break to work on themselves. "Sloane too?" she asked carefully.

KK nodded, her grin widening. "Yup. Haven's already on board. We figured it'd be good for everyone to get away for a bit, relax, and just vibe, you know? Plus, you two could use some fun time together after... everything."

Paige exhaled, her mind flashing back to last night. The argument. The tears. And then the time when Sloane admitted she still loved her. They both knew they needed space, but now there was this. A trip sounded like a good distraction, a chance to breathe, but would it be too soon?

"I don't know." Paige said, rubbing her forehead. "We just agreed to take some time apart."

"And that's fine!" Nika said, her voice a little too enthusiastic. "But this is like...mutualness. You guys can hang out, have fun, and not put so much pressure on everything. No one's saying you have to be with her the whole time."

Paige chuckled despite herself.

KK nudged her with a smirk. "I'm just saying, some sun and alcohol gon do it every-time and everyone's gonna be there so it won't even be awkward."

Paige thought about it. She missed Sloane, despite everything. And maybe this trip could force them to be in contact again, they could enjoy each other's company without the weight of their relationship hanging over them. But at the same time, the idea of spending time together felt fragile, like they were walking on thin ice and another argument could happen at any given moment. But yolo.

"I'll go."
Paige finally said, her voice soft.

KK and Nika exchanged knowing looks, both of them smiling. "Yes!!!," Nika said as KK jumped on her. "and maybe y'all could even get back together."

Paige shook her head, a small smile tugging at her lips. "You're annoying."

As the conversation progressed and moved on to other topics, Paige's mind kept circling back to the trip. A part of her was excited about the possibility of spending time with Sloane again, even in a casual setting. But another part of her was nervous—nervous about reopening wounds that hadn't fully healed yet.

But maybe, just maybe, this trip could exactly what they needed.
