The school holidays had finally arrived.
Excitement filled the hostel.
Emily and Jackson's relationship blossomed.
Their love grew stronger each day.
Friends celebrated their love.
"Emily and Jackson are meant to be!" they'd say.
Emily decided to bunk at Maddie's house.
No going home this holiday.
Maddie's family welcomed Emily warmly.
"Emily, dear, it's so great to have you!" Maddie's mom exclaimed.
Emily chatted with Maddie's family.
Laughter and stories filled the evening.
Maddie's mom shared memories.
"Remember when Maddie was little?" she asked.
Emily smiled.
"I've known Maddie forever!" Emily replied.
Maddie's mom's eyes sparkled.
"You girls have grown so close," Maddie's mom said. "I'm grateful for your friendship."
Emily's heart warmed.
"Thanks, Mrs. Smith," Emily said. "You've always been like a second mom to me."
Maddie's mom hugged Emily.
"You're part of our family, Emily," Maddie's mom whispered.
Emily felt at home.
"I love how you always make me feel welcome," Emily said.
Maddie's mom smiled.
"That's what moms do," Maddie's mom replied. "We love unconditionally."
That night, Emily and Maddie lounged around.
Jackson texted Emily.
"Hey love, Dad says hi. I love you," Jackson wrote.
Emily's heart fluttered.
Maddie noticed Emily's smile.
"What's up?" Maddie asked.
"Just Jackson being sweet," Emily replied.
Maddie grinned.
"That's so adorable!"
They decided to binge-watch movies.
Popcorn and laughter filled the night.
Next morning, Emily and Maddie planned.
"Let's go to a club tonight!" Emily suggested.
Maddie's eyes sparkled.
"Maddie's mom, can we go?" Emily asked.
Maddie's mom smiled.
"Have fun, girls! Be safe."
Afternoon preparations began.
Dresses, makeup, and music.
VIP area, shots, and dancing.
Emily let loose, laughing with Maddie.
Suddenly, a figure caught Emily's eye.
Her worst nightmare.
The boy from the carnival.
The boy reached their table.
"Emily, long time no see," he said.
Emily trembled.
Maddie stood up.
"Leave her alone," Maddie warned.
