As the weeks passed, they created an endless collection of memories that became the foundation of their happiness.
Every morning began with the smell of breakfast wafting through the air. Jimin had made it a tradition to cook for everyone, even though Jungkook often tried to help, only to be playfully shooed away by Jimin.
“Let me handle this,” Jimin would say with a mock-serious look, flipping pancakes expertly while Jungwoo and Ahrin sat at the kitchen island, watching with wide, eager eyes. They loved guessing what kind of pancakes Jimin would make — sometimes they were simple, and other times, they were decorated with funny faces or shaped like stars.
“Star pancakes for my little stars,” Jimin said one morning, serving the two excited kids, who beamed up at him.
Jungkook would often sneak up behind Jimin, wrapping his arms around him while he cooked, whispering, “You’re amazing, you know that?” He’d kiss Jimin’s temple, and Jimin would laugh softly, pretending to be flustered.
The mornings were always bright, filled with the sounds of them teasing each other — Ahrin’s quiet giggles, Jungwoo’s excited chatter, and Jimin and Jungkook’s gentle laughter in between.
Afternoons were not boring as they were reserved for outdoor adventures whenever the kids had no classes. Jungwoo and Ahrin loved the nearby park, where they would run around the playground, inventing elaborate games that only they seemed to understand.
Jimin often sat on a bench, watching them play. Jungkook would also clear out his afternoon schedule for them. Sometimes Jungkook would bring out a soccer ball, and the four of them would have impromptu matches in the open field, Jimin laughing as he tried to keep up with Jungkook’s playful competitiveness
“Are you even trying, love?” Jungkook teased one day after scoring a goal.
“I let you have that one,” Jimin replied, grinning as he wiped sweat from his forehead.
Ahrin and Jungwoo would always try to team up against the adults, their laughter filling the air as they chased after the ball, their small feet moving as fast as they could across the grass. Even when they were tired, their smiles never faded.
After dinner, the family would gather in the living room, and Jimin would often read stories to the kids. He had a way of making even the simplest tales feel magical, his voice soft and calming as he brought the characters to life.
Jungwoo would curl up on one side of Jimin, and Ahrin would snuggle on the other, both of them captivated by the stories. Jungkook usually sat nearby, watching the three of them with a contented smile. He loved these quiet moments, where everything felt peaceful and complete.
One evening, after finishing a particularly adventurous story, Ahrin looked up at Jimin with wide eyes. “Will we always be together, appa?” she asked, her voice soft but filled with hope.
Jimin’s heart swelled at the question, and he exchanged a look with Jungkook, who nodded slightly. Jimin leaned down and kissed the top of Ahrin’s head. “Always,” he whispered. “We’re a family now.”
Jungwoo chimed in, nodding eagerly. “Yeah, we’re the best family!”
Jimin and Jungkook couldn’t have agreed more.
After the kids had gone to bed, Jimin and Jungkook stole a quiet moment for themselves. They sat on the couch together, talking about their day, simply enjoying the silence.
As they cuddled together under a blanket, Jungkook whispered, “This feels perfect, doesn’t it?”
Jimin nodded, resting his head on Jungkook’s shoulder. “It does,” he replied softly. “I never thought I’d have something like this.”
