As the clock struck 3 a.m., the house lay in a deep slumber, the storm outside continuing to rage. In their cozy little bedroom, Yuki stirred first, her bright eyes blinking against the darkness. The excitement of the evening still danced in her mind, and she felt the urge to share her thoughts with someone.
With a small giggle, she quietly climbed out of her bed, her soft footsteps barely making a sound against the floor. She peeked into the hallway, half-excited and half-nervous. The glow of the nightlight in the master suite was inviting, and she decided to tiptoe her way towards it.
"Riku!" she whispered, nudging her little brother awake. "Let's go see Daddy and Mommy!"
Riku, still groggy but intrigued, rubbed his eyes and nodded eagerly. "Okay!" he whispered back, a smile spreading across his face. The two little adventurers exchanged glances, both bubbling with excitement as they quietly made their way down the hall.
As David lay nestled under the covers, the rhythmic patter of rain against the window accompanied his dreams. Unbeknownst to him, the storm outside only intensified the cozy atmosphere, and in his half-asleep state, a whimsical tune began to bubble up from his subconscious.
As they reached the master suite, Yuki gently pushed the door open, her heart racing with anticipation. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of the nightlight illuminating David and Hana, who were peacefully sleeping. Yuki could see David's arm in a sling and felt a pang of sympathy for him.
"Look, Riku!" Yuki whispered, pointing. "They're sleeping!"
Riku tiptoed closer, trying not to giggle too loudly. "We should wake them up!" he suggested, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
Yuki frowned a little. "But they need their sleep... What if we just sit with them?"
Riku thought for a moment before nodding in agreement. They climbed onto the bed, careful not to jostle David too much, and nestled between him and Hana. The warmth of their parents enveloped them like a cozy blanket.
Hana stirred slightly, sensing the presence of her children. "Yuki? Riku?" she murmured, her voice soft and sleepy.
"Mommy!" Yuki squeaked, her excitement bubbling over. "We're here!"
"Why are you two up at this hour?" Hana asked, propping herself up on her elbow, a hint of amusement in her tired eyes.
"We wanted to see you!" Riku replied, snuggling closer. "Can we stay here?"
David cracked an eye open, a smile forming on his face as he took in the sight of his two little ones. "Of course, little giants. But you have to be quiet, okay?" he said, adjusting his position to make space for them.
Yuki nodded vigorously. "Okay! We'll be super quiet!"
Hana chuckled softly as she looked over at David, who was sprawled across the bed in the most ridiculous position, one arm flung dramatically over his head and his legs tangled in the blankets. He was snoring loudly, completely unaware of the chaos around him.
"Look at Daddy," Yuki whispered, his eyes wide with amusement. "He looks so silly!"
Riku giggled, nodding in agreement as he watched his father sleep. "He's a giant!" he exclaimed, his voice barely above a whisper, not wanting to wake him.
With a playful grin, he started to sing softly, "Oh, the poopoo in the potty, oh, the peepee in the loo, it's a silly little song for me and you!" The absurdity of the lyrics delighted him, and he couldn't help but chuckle as he continued, "Flush it down, wave goodbye, oh, the joy of the bathroom high!"
Hana, a light sleeper, stirred instantly at the sound of her husband's voice. Blinking against the darkness, she turned to face David, her expression a mix of confusion and amusement. "David, what are you singing?" she whispered, her voice still thick with sleep.
