After a long night and good food we all finished the night with drinks in the living room, playing uno. "UNO OUT!" Dexter shouted, we all groaned annoyed. "That's bullshit, you can't put a plus two on  a plus four!" I told him, "Don't be bitter bestie." Xena told me sipping her wine mocking me, "right bestie." Dexter said mimicking her voice, she jokingly shoved him. "Nah man, I gotta agree only the same color or number stacked." Jayson said agreeing with me, "Yeah man, I ain't never see no shit like that." Justice said not being able to hold his chuckle. "Man I ain't listening to y'all, my party , my win!" Dexter said as we gave his cheating ass the cards to reshuffle. "I'm so excited for y'all wedding, Do you know what colors you want?" I asked Xena, "I don't know yet, we think maybe a Hunter green." She suggested, "I was thinking Royal blue." Dexter said, "Both colors are nice." Justice says. "Thank you, we'll either way we still have time to decided. We're just happy to be doing this together." Xena said, then Dexter gave her a kiss, their love was felt throughout the room, their life, their family everything they built, together. "Mommy, I'm scared." Yasmine, said sitting at the top of the steps. "Okay baby, I'm coming." Xena answered. "I'm going to read her to bed." She told Dexter as she kissed him and got up. "Well night gang, I will see all of you at breakfast." She said so happily. We all told her goodnight. "I'm going to clean up the kitchen, but you all have a good night. See y'all tomorrow." Dexter said outrun up the peace sign and walking away. We wished him goodnight. "Well I didn't think mom and dad would go to bed this early but I have something that can end our night off right." I said to Justice and Jayson. "What you got up your sleeve?" Jayson asked. I grinned at them. "Give me a second." I told them,  then I went to get my bag and came back down, they saw me pull out the ounce of weed. "Oh shit!" Justice said sitting up putting his hand out so he can see. I gave it to him. "Ooo you know Im with it." Jayson said. "I want to but, my flight is tomorrow morning. I want to wake up and catch it on time." Justice said handing me the bag back. "Damn you just got here." I told him,  " My flight been having issues and I just wanna make sure I get home." Justice said to us. He got up out his seat. "But get high for me,  and have a goodnight." He told us. We wished him goodnight as well and then there were two. "So..." I said to Jayson. "So..." he said to me,  it was awkward we haven't spoken since the doctors office, we haven't spoken about anything. "Wanna get high?" I asked him.. Hoping we could just smoke and relax.

We were sitting on the stoop smoking, he smoked the blunt but started coughing when he inhaled. I couldn't help but laugh when he passed it back. " Damn baby lungs." I said to him, he chuckled still trying to catch his breath. "Don't do me like that it's been a minute okay?" He said to me defending himself, I raised my hands in defeat. "Okay, okay sorry." I responded. The weed was definitely starting to get to us. "So, how have you been?" He asked me, "I've been good, I Live in New York now, I'm a teacher for a middle school." I told him, His face lit up. "Wow, that's amazing Kalii, Congratulations on everything." He told me, "Thank you." I said smiling reflecting my accomplishments. "What about you? How's life been for you?" I asked passing him back the blunt. He began to smoke and not die this time. "I'm good, yeah. I live in LA It's crazy before coming out here I actually got promoted to A&R rep of my company." He said so nonchalant, I looked at him amazed, "uhm hello... That's fucking amazing, and you saying my news is good." I said to him, he laughed. "Both our news is good." He said to me so reassuring. "Well that is true." I said to him with a chuckle, he finally passed the blunt back now my turn. "Is there like anyone in your life, like are you in a relationship?" He asked me, I was hesitant to answer, "you don't have to answer that if you don't want to, I'm sorry for even asking." He began to say, "no it's okay." I told him, "I actually do have a boyfriend. His name is Evan. He's a nurse, and a great guy." I told him, it felt good to say but I wasn't ready for whatever Jayson has to say. "Well that's sounds Amazing. I'm happy for you, You and him both. He sounds like a cool dude." He said to me, I was stuck on his response, I passed him the blunt with no words, I didn't even feel like I was talking to the same jayson from college. "Thank you. He really is." I said to him. "What about you? Any new girlfriends or fuck buddies?" I said lightly nudging him to spill the tea. "Nah, I'm seeing someone right now, but that's about it. It's new so I'm just trying to take my time, she's beautiful, and smart, and loyal, and supportive." He was beginning to rant, I could tell he was day dreaming about her. I'll be honest it was a little sting in my chest. The way he spoke about her like... I don't know. "I'm sorry I'm just going off." He said then chuckled. "No it's okay, if she has this effect on you she must be something special." I told him, looking into eachother eyes it felt comfortable, warm. Like a safe place I could be, forget everything and everyone. Just us right now in this moment. My phone started to buzz, I looked at the caller ID to see it was Evan. "It's him, I'm gonna take it." I told him getting up. "Yeah of course. Have a goodnight Kalii." He told him, "you too." I told him, I then I walked inside to answer my call. Thank god Evan called.
