It was Friday night and I was in the studio with Phadra working on a song. She was in the booth doing her thing while the engineer was working on editing it. Scrolling through my IG I see Kalii posted a story, it was just her at the bar obviously drinking. I'm a little annoyed, she can't text me back but can be at the bar. "JAYSON!" Phadra said to me from in the booth interrupting my thoughts. "Sorry, Yeah wassup?" I asked her. "Did you like the way I ended that verse; or do you think it needs a little more feels like the bridge?" Phadra asked me, "It sounds good Phadra, It's whatever you think is best." I said to her, I felt my phone buzz in my pocket, quickly taking it out I thought it was Kali, but it wasn't it was just a notification. "Oscar, can we get a second?" She told the engineer. He turned off his equipment and stepped out. "What's up? What's going on; why you stop?" I asked her. "My manger is on another planet.  What's up with you man? When I came out here you said getting my track out would be priority." She told me, sitting on the couch. "It is." I explained. "Really? It seems like your phone is more of a priority." She told me, I never meant to come off looking this unprofessional, I sat on the couch with her. "I'm sorry, I really am. I'm just going through stuff with my girl, I ain't mean to be inattentive I'm sorry, phones down." I told her putting my phone face down on the table.

"Shit well; Fix it with her but not during my recording sessions." She said to me, then she got back in the booth. I sat in the engineer seat and prepared the board. "Alright, Let's see what we got so far." I said to her, I played a little of her end verse, it was good. "What you think?" She asked me, "it's good but I want to end the end on a softer note to tie it all together." I told her, I could tell her artist wheeler were turning in her brain. "Ok, let me give it a try." She told me, as she started to sing back on the track Angie walked in. "Hey, I just wanted to make sure you got Barns email about the showcase advertising." She said, she then walked over to my phone, "I'm going to take a picture for your IG, I think it's good we start posting promos for the showcase now to build the hype for the event and when we introduce Phadra." She told me. "Yeah that's good, the track for performance is going great. Almost done recording." I told her, "that's amazing! You're doing great Jayson." She said putting her hand on my shoulder. This time it definitely felt more than friendly. She quickly moved it. "I'm going to take the pic now." She said to me, I respected the fact she wasn't pushing up on me. She's being professional well still trying to be a good friend, which is something I really needed right now.

I was at the florist shop Daisy mother owned.  We were looking for some flowers to go with the wedding service. "I like these Lillie's." Daisy said showing me, "Their Nice; but the colors really aren't doing it for me." I told her, trying to look at more examples. Daisy and I aren't besties far from it actually, but for the sake of my wedding she has been doing a good job listening to me and helping me get everything I want and need. "So... have you put thought into the brides maids dresses?" She asked me. "Yes, I'm just waiting for them to ship from Berlin, I'm excited they look nice." I told her. "So is Kali coming?" She asked me, I never talked to her about Kali; Mainly because that's my bestie, so Daisy better come correct or don't come at all. "Yeah, She's my maid of honor." I said to her, she paused for a moment; I could tell she was thinking something but scared to say it. "Does she still hate me?" Daisy asked, I could tell in her voice this is an honest question. "Of course she does." I told her, I hope she wasn't expecting me to sugar coat shit cause I never do. "I never meant to ruin anyone's relationship." She said to me, I could feel her guilt linger off her body. "Look, you ain't mean to.. but you did, and to be real. You hurt my Best friend. So you can understand why you're not exactly everyone favorite." I told her. She sighed. "Well hopefully this is an opportunity to earn everyone trust back." She said to me picking herself up, with that optimism and confident demeanor. "Let's just start with some flowers." I said to her, I started to feel bad for her, I know that it was in college; we were all young; But what she did cause Kali a lot of pain and confusion and I'm always going to side with my bestie. Right now none of this is my concern, the only think important right now is these flowers.

After a while Daisy and I left the shop satisfied with our pick of flowers. "So... If you're hungry, I know a good place around the block that got the best lunch menu." Daisy offered me, I was hesitant cause I knew this wasn't work related, but I guess getting to know her wouldn't be too bad. "Sure, why not?" I said to her; she joyfully led the way. We walked into a nice diner, it was giving the 80's feel with a little modern twist. "Hey D! We haven't seen you in a while." The older waitress said to Daisy, she seemed so polite and vibrant. "Hi Viv, Sorry I been MIA Yvonne, always has me working." She told her, "It's okay, We have your steaks on the grill today, you know your booth is always open." The lady said, We walked over to an empty booth in the corner and sat down, she pasted me a long laminated menu. "You can get whatever you like, they have really good steaks and lobster Mac and Cheese." She said, sounding like she obviously had experience, I was shocked. " what?" She asked me confused. "Nothing, it's just you act all Ms.Boujie and Pristine, but the way you talking about the Lobster Mac & Cheese, I can see you might have a little spice in you." I told her, she couldn't help but chuckle. Two tall, Dark-skinned men walked over to our table, they looked good I'll be honest, nobody can compete with my man. "Excuse me ladies, I couldn't help but hear your beautiful laugh from over there and thought, we'd love to hear it first hand." The first man said wearing dark shaded sunglasses, referring to him and his wingman next to him. I looked at Daisy. "We're okay thank you." I told them kindly. "You sure, I mean you both looking like you might want some attention." He said to us, instantly giving the ick. "Attention from who? You two?" Daisy asked him, "I think y'all might want the attention." I told them, "Medical attention, because to think we want to talk to you is absolutely INSANE." She said to them, I couldn't help but giggle. The men sucked their teeth. "Come on bro, let's go." He told his friend, "Awww no don't leave! We were just having fun." Daisy said sarcastically, playing welcoming. I laughed so hard even she laughed with me. "Can you believe those niggas? Like be for real." Daisy said to me, "Wearing glasses indoors but want to tell me I'm looking for attention? Right.. and you're delusional." Said to her, she couldn't help but laugh. Viv finally came over to take our order, I guess Daisy isn't too bad at all, she definitely can hold her own.
