Trips are always hell Pt.1

Dexter

It was a few months before the wedding; Xena and I decided to plan a camping trip with a few friends and family. Plus it's been a minute since I seen Jayson, so I'm excited to see my boy. Xena came over to me with some hotdogs for the grill. "Here you go babe. Just make sure you set 3 aside for Yasmine you know she loves hotdogs." She said to me setting them down. " Three? She's five babe." I told her, "I know, but she has her father appetite." She said to me, I laughed at her. "Y'all better have a glammed out cabin for me!" Kali said walking over to us struggling to Carry this big blue cooler. "You know we do!" Xena said walking over to her, she dropped the cooler and they hugged each other so tight. "What's in the cooler?" I asked her, she opened it and it was full with ice, champagne, liquor, everything. "Y'all know I came with ammo." She said to us, xena laughed. "Shit, definitely not on dad duty tonight." I told them. "Oh and I'm on mommy duty? No. Your mother can help; lord knows she loves giving her unrequested services." Xena said, I nudged her. "Well if you guys need the help I will gladly take over." Kali kindly offered. "I hope nobody started eating yet!" Jayson shouted walking over with his arms out. I gave him a bear hug. "Wassup man, I was just getting everything on the grill." I t0ld him. "Hi Jayson." Xena said as she gave him a hug. "Wassup Xe; Soon to be Mrs.Jefferson." He said to her, she started to get hype flashing her ring. "Cause Yes, I'm a wifey." She said confidently we all started laughing. Kali and him didn't really great each other, just a head nod. I would ask questions but I know better not to.

A gorgeous light skin woman walked over to us, she had long black hair and big brown eyes with full lips. I never seen her before. "Hey, I didn't know whether to grab your bags so I left them." She said to Jay. "It's okay I'll get them after. You can meet my friends." He said to her finally about to introduce us. "Everyone this is Angie; Angie this is Dexter my bro." He said introducing me first. I gave her my hand to shake. "And this is his soon to be bride Xena." He said to Angie, she shook Xena hand joyfully, her energy was pleasing. "Congratulations to you guys; I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic, so any celebration of love is beautiful." Angie said to Xena. "Aww thank you, you are so pretty and kind." Xena said to her, Angie looked over to Kali, he face confused. "Kali right?" She asked her. Kali face turned white. Xena wasn't looking to pleased anymore. "Yeah, nice to see you again Angie." Kali said with shuttering sound to her voice. "I'm sorry. How do y'all know each other?" Xena asked them, Jayson quickly interrupted. "I went to New York to sign a client and We ran into Kali." He said to her, I know he's lying I could see it on his face, but the questioned is does Xena know. "It's true. We recently signed a new artist and I met Kali outside outside the hotel where we were meeting her." Angie said justifying everything to Xena. "Are y'all together?" I asked her, they both chuckled. "No, no we work together; she's my assistant." Jayson said to us, I could tell there was more to it but for now I'll keep it chill. "Oh. Well I'm sorry I don't know
If we have more cabins available?" Xena told Angie. "No it's okay she was just dropping me off, she's taking my car back." He said to us, "oh well you don't have to, just share your room with me her." I mentioned. You could tell he was hesitant. "I don't know bro." He tried to tell me. "Jayson she can't drive back by herself it's getting late. Just share your room with her." Xena told him, he still seemed to be letting that weigh heavy on him. "I would love stay. Thank you." Angie said to Xena. Xena happily started clapping. "Great, let me show you to your tent." Xena said taking Angie and Jayson. I looked over to Kali and her face wasn't gleaming like before.  Her mind was elsewhere. "You good K?" I asked her taking her out of her train of thought. "Yeah, of course." She said to me, I didn't know what was going on but I could definitely tell it was eating her up inside. "Well then; Let's go get you settled." I told her, grabbing the cooler for her to guide her to the tent.

Jayson

I was in my cabin taking my clothes out with Angie. "Hey, so; I know your friend Xena said I can stay, but if you're not cool with it I can go." Angie told me, "No. she's right you can't be driving for 8 hours late at night by yourself , and who is gonna take my meetings if you get kidnapped?" I told her with a chuckle, she jokingly mocked my laugh.  "Ha ha ha, you joke but I watched the hills has eyes; and I'm not  into mountain men." She told me, I laughed so hard. "No but for real. I seen the way Kali was looking me up and down, definitely do not want to be on that girl bad side." Angie said to me, I was kind of thinking about that actually. "Look I don't know what she on, but I'm just tired of playing cat and mouse." I said to her, trying to get back to unpacking. "Well then.." she said to me helping me to unpack my bag. "Don't play. This isn't college anymore. If someone really wants something they'll fight for it." She told me, I know she's right but looking into her eyes right now doesn't make me feel any better. I could smell that beautiful perfume linger from her body. Her eyes craving my touch.

"Well excuse me for interrupting" Kali said to us standing in the doorway. It was definitely awkward, and it didn't help seeing Angie and I so close. "Hey, You're not interrupting." I told her, "You sure?" She asked me looking between Angie and I suspiciously. "I mean knocking would've been nice."
Angie told her so cold trying to play nice. Kali gave this eerie fake smile. "Oh I did knock. You just couldn't hear it; seeing as you're obviously working so hard." Kali said to her sarcastically. "Well; You know I have to make sure Jayson's always satisfied." Angie said to her, I could feel the tension building, "Yes, cause that's your job to satisfy him not pushing paper clips." Kali said to Angie, I had to break it up before someone started pulling hair. " O-Kay; Angie why don't you finish unpacking. I'll be right back." I told her, I followed Kali out the door. "What's up?" I asked her, " Not here, let's go for a walk." She said to me, I was confused but then I remembered she doesn't want to be seen with me. It hurts I'll be honest, but one things at a time. "Yeah sure, come on." I told her leading the way. We walked towards the path into the woods. "So, I'm happy you came over actually, we haven't talked since LA." I told her, "Yeah, I just needed some space." She told me, she definitely was more standoffish. "Yeah, no I get it. How I was, that was alot and again I'm sorry." I told her hoping she'd really hear me. We stopped on a log and sat down. "It's okay really; I actually wanted to talk about all that too." She told me, I started to get a little eager, I'm excited to see what she'll say. "Have you told Dexter about us?" She asked me, that wasn't what I was expecting her to say. "Uh, No. No he doesn't know anything; why?" I asked her curiously, "Well Xena doesn't know and I want to keep
It that way you know." She said to me, my mind was rattled. "So, this chat wasn't about us?" I asked her, "Jayson I meant what I said. We shouldn't be together." She told me, I jumped from the log to catch my breath. "So that's it? You won't even try?" I asked her, she got up from her seat. "I did try remember? Or did you forget; between Ms.Happy to help and you picking a fight with Evan, I'm tired of being on a roller coaster I didn't sign up for."  She said agitated, "You always do this..." I told her. "And; Here we go." She said out loud agitated. "You run from everything; Especially tough conversations." I said, "I don't run from tough conversations." She said crossing her arms, obviously trying to disregard what I'm saying. "Yes you do!" I said to her getting louder, our frustration was building. "No you think I'm running from my issues when you know I'm running from you! You are insufferable. You want me to be all about you everything is about Jayson, what Jayson needs, what Jayson wants; It's always going to be about you! There's never going to be room for me." She said to me, I didn't know what to say. We heard a twig snapped and turned to see Dexter walking over slowly. I can't believe he heard all at. "What's going on guys?" He asked us, you could tell he already knew. "Nothing. I'm just going to see if Xena needs help with anything." She said, walking away, I just let her go. The last thing I need is Dexter knowing we got back together than broke up again! If we were even back together. "What's up man?" I asked him trying to change the energy. He walked over to me looking me in the eyes. "Did y'all fuck?" He asked me, I felt my throat get tight. "Nigga no! No." I told him he just stared at me. "What?!" I asked him, " I know you lying, and I want to ask more, but right now ain't the time." He said to me, "so why you came over?" I asked him, " because I have something to tell you, and you're not gonna like it so I rather tell you before she gets here." He said going to sit on the same log. " before who gets here?" I asked him confused, my brain is scrambled after dealing with Kali; So what ever this is, please let it be something good.
