It had been many days since Megha came home.
"Mummi, main aagayi," Megha said, smiling.
"Are aagayi tu! aaj tere liye tere pasandita panwan banaye hain," Megha's mother said.
"Thank you! Bas jaldi-jaldi khana laga do aap," Megha replied.
Megha's mother went to her room.
"Ye le beta, kha le."
"Aap bhi aayiye, yahin baithiye na," Megha said.
Megha's mother sat beside her, gazing at her intently.
"Kya hua mummi?" Megha asked.
"Beta, bura mat manna, par ab toh tu 30 ki hone wali hain. Ghar mein sabki shaadi ho gayi, yahan tak chhoto ki bhi. Tu bhi kar le taki mujhe teri fikr na rahe," Megha's mother said, watching her closely.
"Are mummy, shaadi hi sab kuch thodi na hain. Dekho, mera career bhi sahi chal raha hai, paisa bhi kama rahi hoon, aur kya chahiye? Aur shaadi ka toh koi thikana bhi nahi aur shadi ke bad to meri freedom bhi chali jayegi," Megha said, smiling.
"Beta, main samajh sakti hoon teri baat, par zaruri toh nahi na ki sab ladke kharab hi ho Duniya ache aur bure dono se banti hai na, aur fir life mein aisa samay aayega na, jab main nahi rahungi. Tab koi toh rehna chahiye na tere saath," Megha's mother explained.
"Are mummy, aap har baar meri shaadi ki baat mein kyu aa jaati hain? Dijiye plate, main dho deti hoon," Megha said, avoiding her mother's gaze.
Megha was just about to leave when her mother said,
"Acha thikh hain, tu ek baar ladka toh dekh le. Nahi pasand aayega toh mat karna shaadi."
"Acha thikh hain, mummy," Megha said and walked away.
Megha's mother showed her many boys, but she still couldn't forget the person she had met 15 years ago...
