Janam Janam Janam Sath Chalna Yunhi,
Kasam Tumhein Kasam Aake Milnaa Yahi,
Ek Jaan Hai Bhale, Do Badan Ho Juda,
Meri Hoke Hameshaa Hi Rehna,
Kabhi Na Kehna Alvidaa...💕_______________________________________________________
The next day, Megha asked Janvi, "Come on, let's go to the office."
"No, I don't want to go. You go alone," Janvi replied, her voice dull.
"Still not over that jerk Harshvardhan, huh?" Megha tried to sound lighthearted, hoping to lift Janvi's mood.
"Just go, will you?" Janvi sighed.
"If you're not going, then I'm not going either!" Megha declared firmly.
And just like that, both Megha and Janvi skipped work.
Meanwhile, Dev was in the office, pacing as he waited for Megha. Guilt gnawed at him, and he replayed the moment between them over and over, hoping he'd get a chance to apologize. As the hours dragged on, he thought to himself, "Why isn't she here? Is she angry... could she be thinking of quitting? What do I do?"
Dev finally spotted a staff member nearby and thought, "Maybe they'll know something."
"Hey, have you seen Megha? Is she coming in today, or...?" Dev asked, trying to keep his voice steady.
The staff member shook his head. "I don't think she's coming today, sir."
"Oh... okay," Dev replied, unable to hide his disappointment as he returned to his office, the weight of the situation sinking in. A few minutes later, there was a knock on his door. It was Abhay.
"Hey, we need to schedule a meeting with ABC Corp's CEO. They're offering us a collaboration. I was going over their performance—solid growth last quarter. It looks promising," Abhay explained, but Dev's mind was elsewhere, his gaze distant.
"Dev! Where are you lost?" Abhay asked, snapping his fingers in front of him.
"Uh, nowhere," Dev said, attempting to refocus. "Tell me... what were you saying?"
Abhay looked at him knowingly. "Met bhabhi recently, huh?"
Dev felt his face grow warm, a blush creeping up despite himself.
"I knew it! That's why you're so distracted these days. Come on, tell me bhabhi's name!" Abhay teased, grinning.
"There's no one like that," Dev muttered, trying to brush it off.
"Right. You'll regret not sharing this with me," Abhay chuckled before continuing with details about Raghav Malhotra, the CEO of ABC Corp.
Despite Abhay's words, Dev found his thoughts drifting back to Megha. He picked up his phone and sent her another message: "Megha, how can you take leave like this without informing us?"
Meanwhile, Megha was struggling with her Wi-Fi and asked Janvi, "Hey, is your internet working?"
"Yeah, it's fine," Janvi replied.
"Mine isn't working... I'll check it from the terrace," Megha said, making her way upstairs. Once there, her connection kicked in, and she received Dev's messages. She glanced at them, but ignored both.
When his messages went undelivered, Dev thought, "Wow, she doesn't even reply to her CEO's messages. She's something else!"
Later that evening, Dev drove home, feeling restless. The drive back wasn't the same without her. What's happening to me? Why am I acting like this? She's just a colleague... if she doesn't want to come, fine, we'll find another director, he tried to convince himself, though his heart wasn't in it.
The next day, Megha and Janvi finally returned to the office. Just seeing Megha brought a wave of relief over Dev, but he kept his distance, hoping she'd approach him first. However, Megha acted as if he didn't even exist, and each ignored glance stung.
In the evening, as Megha was about to leave with Janvi, Dev pulled up beside them in his car and lowered the window.
"Megha, let me drop you off," he said softly, almost pleading.
"No need, sir. I'll go with Janvi," she replied firmly, not even looking his way.
A strange pang of hurt shot through Dev's chest as she walked away with Janvi. "I must have hurt her deeply. How do I fix this?" he wondered, feeling helpless.
Janvi noticed Megha's troubled expression and nudged her, "Your crush offered you a ride, and you turned him down?"
With a sigh, Megha finally told Janvi everything.
"He kissed you?" Janvi gasped.
"Yes..." Megha admitted, her face flushed.
"Maybe he likes you! People don't just kiss anyone out of nowhere, you know! And why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"Why would he like me?" Megha replied with a sad smile. "And you were so down about Harshvardhan that I didn't want to bring it up."
Later, both Megha and Janvi went home. Megha couldn't shake her doubt: Of course it was a mistake... He wouldn't love me. He probably has a girlfriend.
Days passed with Megha and Janvi ignoring Dev, which began to hurt him in ways he hadn't expected. Finally, one evening, Megha and Janvi finished work early and went out to a party with friends. After a few drinks, Janvi began to cry, thinking about Harshvardhan. Just then, she stumbled into Abhay, who caught her just before she fell. For a brief moment, Abhay felt something he hadn't felt in a long time—a flutter in his chest.
Megha, meanwhile, had also had a bit too much and was about to pass out when Dev appeared and held her steady.
"Oh, it's you, Mr. Dev Sharma, huh... CEO," Megha slurred, giggling as she started to drift off to sleep.
Dev felt a twinge of concern as he carried her to the car. He dropped Janvi off with Abhay's help, then drove Megha home, laying her gently on her bed. Just as he was about to leave, she reached out, grasping his hand.
"I love you, Dev..." she murmured, half-asleep.
