Chaahe tum kuchh na kaho, maine sun liya
Ke saathi pyaar ka, mujhe chun liya
Chun liya
Maine sun liya
Pehla nasha pehla khumaar
Naya pyaar hai naya intezaar
Kar loon main kya apna haal
E dil-e-bekaraar
Mere dil-e-bekaraar, tu hi bata...✨💕---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As Dev held Megha, calling her name, time seemed to freeze for a moment. Megha's breath hitched, her heart pounding like a drum. She struggled to regain her composure and turned away, managing to say, "Yes, sir."
Dev had fallen asleep, unaware of the storm of emotions that had just washed over Megha. She hurried home, but even in the comfort of her own space, sleep eluded her. Her mind was filled with thoughts of Dev, replaying their brief contact like a favourite song stuck on repeat.
The next morning, as Dev opened his eyes, he couldn't remember the events of the night before. Abhay, his best friend, smirked at him, saying, "Why did you drink so much yesterday? I couldn't find you at the party!"
"Did I really drink that much?" Dev asked, trying to piece together the night.
"Yeah, man!" Abhay replied with a laugh. "I don't know who brought you back. I thought I'd help, but then my friends made me drink too, and I forgot about you."
"Great, now my head is pounding," Dev groaned.
"Drink more like that" Abhay teased.
Abhay chuckled, the familiarity of their friendship easing his discomfort. "I can't believe how fast we've grown up. I never thought you'd be COO while I'm CEO."
"Yeah, who would've thought?"Dev agreed.
After a brief rest, Dev was surprised to see Megha waiting for him when he got up. Just seeing her sent a strange flutter through his chest.
"Yes, Megha?" he asked, trying to maintain a professional tone.
"Sir, your necklace fell in the party room last night. I wanted to give it back, but I forgot," she explained, holding out the delicate piece.
Dev quickly checked to see if it was there. "Oh, thank you, Megha."
After that, Megha immersed herself in her work, and days passed with a comfortable routine. One day, Dev called a meeting with all the staff.
"Our company's sales and growth have been declining for the past few years. We've dropped from number one to twentieth, which is concerning. If this continues, we could be in serious trouble," he said, his voice firm yet encouraging. "I want everyone to commit fully to their work. We might have to put in some overtime, but I trust each one of you to pull together and bring our company back to its former glory."
His words ignited a spark in everyone, especially Megha, who felt a surge of determination. She dove into her tasks, losing track of time. As night fell, Dev was heading to his office when he noticed Megha asleep at her desk. He approached quietly, covering her with a soft blanket, and gazing at her peaceful face and then he also went to sleep.
The next morning, when Megha woke up, she found Dev watching her intently.
"Megha, I appreciate your dedication, but you shouldn't be working late alone; it's not safe," he said, his tone filled with concern.
"Sorry, sir. I didn't realize how late it was," Megha replied, feeling a mix of embarrassment and gratitude.
"It's okay. Just be careful from now on. By the way, I have some discussions about the company later this evening. Please bring Janvi along. But for now, focus on your work."
As the evening approached, Megha and Janvi arrived at Dev's office. Dev greeted them, saying, "I want to thank both of you for your dedication. Because of your hard work, our company's growth is slowly improving. I want to brainstorm better strategies that only you two can implement."
"Yes, sir! We'll do our best," Megha and Janvi replied in unison.
After the meeting, Janvi rushed home, but Megha struggled to find a taxi. Noticing her predicament, Dev said, "Come on, Megha, I'll drop you off."
He ushered her into his car, glancing at her. "I think you're hungry; let's grab a bite before we head out."
Dev drove to a nearby restaurant. "What would you like to eat, Megha?"
"Sir, whatever you like," she replied shyly.
"Alright, dal makhani and tawa roti it is," he decided and placed the order.
"Same pinch, sir! I love dal makhani too; I always order it when I go out," Megha said, her eyes sparkling. Their laughter echoed in the cosy restaurant, and for a moment, the world around them faded, leaving just the two of them.
"From now on, I'll be the one to drop you home," Dev declared a playful glint in his eye.
"Please, sir, I can manage on my own," Megha insisted, though her heart fluttered at the thought.
"Do you have no shame in denying the CEO?" he teased, his laughter warm and infectious.
Seeing his charming smile, Megha couldn't help but blush.
"But sir, if you only drop me off, what will people think? You don't do that for anyone else," Megha said, a hint of protest in her voice.
"Others leave with their boyfriends or husbands, and you always go home alone after working late. If something happens, how will we find our amazing director?" Dev countered, his tone turning serious, though his eyes still held warmth.
Megha fell silent, unable to argue with his logic.
Eventually, Dev drove Megha home, and when they arrived, she turned to him, saying, "Thank you again, sir."
"Hmm," Dev replied, a hint of a smile playing on his lips as he watched her go inside.
