Vernon didn't know how to feel.. happy or anxious, been a month since he last saw Seungkwan so up close.

The room was tense, the silence hanging in the air like a thick fog. Seungkwan stood there, staring at Vernon with a look that could cut glass. His hand reached into his bag, and before Vernon could say anything, a piece of paper was hurled at his face.

Vernon blinked, startled. He peeled the paper off his forehead and looked down at it-his eyes widening as he registered the bold, unmistakable words on the report.

Positive.

"Wait... Seungkwan, you are pregnant!" Vernon's voice cracked with excitement, but before he could finish the sentence, Seungkwan raised a hand to silence him.

"Don't," Seungkwan warned, his tone sharp and his eyes narrowing. "Don't even think about getting excited yet." He crossed his arms over his chest, staring Vernon down like he was a misbehaving puppy. "You wanted to be wild and free, right? Well, congratulations. You have got a baby coming, and I am not going to change my life just because of it."

Vernon opened his mouth to speak, but Seungkwan was quicker, his words dripping with sarcasm. "You think this means I am going to settle down now? That suddenly I'm going to be this happy, glowing parent-to-be, taking care of the house while you sit back and celebrate?" Seungkwan's voice rose with each word, and Vernon couldn't help but shrink a little under his glare.

"I am going to be wild and free, too. Just like you wanted, Vernon. I am not giving up my life for this baby. Not when you made it so clear that responsibility is optional."

Vernon's heart pounded, guilt creeping in. He opened his mouth to say something-anything-but Seungkwan was on a roll.

"You think a baby is a game-changer, huh? That now, suddenly, everything's different because there's a kid involved?" Seungkwan's voice dropped to a low, serious tone. "Well, guess what, Vernon? I am still me. I am still going to live my life. I am not some fragile flower who's going to sit around waiting for you to play house. I am going to be wild and free, just like you wanted. And if you want to be part of this-part of my life-you better figure out how to handle it."

Vernon stared at him, his mind spinning. But then something clicked. His eyes darted to Seungkwan's stomach-just the slightest hint of a curve now that hadn't been there before-and a huge, boyish grin spread across his face. "We are having a baby..." he whispered, a mix of awe and excitement filling his voice.

But before he could fully bask in the joy, Seungkwan shot him a glare that could stop traffic. "Don't you dare squeal in excitement. This isn't your victory moment, Vernon."

Vernon quickly swallowed his grin, knowing this was far from the joyous reaction he was hoping for. "I am serious, Seungkwan, I-"

Seungkwan raised his hand again, stopping Vernon mid-sentence. "I am not done yet." His voice softened a little, but the determination in his eyes remained. "I am not going to change my entire world just because I have got a baby growing inside me. I am not giving up everything I love. I am not suddenly becoming a different person just because we are going to be parents. And I am certainly not doing this alone."

The words hit Vernon like a brick. He realized how much Seungkwan had been carrying this weight by himself. Yet, he still sensed the emotional walls Seungkwan had built, especially in front of him. There was no sign of affection or warmth toward the baby; it was all anger and frustration.

Vernon's eyes softened. He took a tentative step toward Seungkwan, unsure if he was allowed to close the distance between them. "Seungkwan..." he started, his voice gentle, "I don't want you to feel alone in this. I know I have been an idiot about all of it, but... I am here. For you. For the baby. For whatever you need. I was never there just for sex..."

Seungkwan raised an eyebrow, but there was less hostility behind it this time. "Yeah? And what happens when things get tough? You gonna run off again, acting like we will just 'figure it out'?"

Vernon shook his head. "No. I swear, I will be here. I don't want to mess this up." He hesitated before adding, "I... I know I have been careless enough, with my words with my actions and everything... I am trying to change for better. but I am not running away from this. From you."

Seungkwan let out a long sigh, running a hand through his hair. "This is still all on you, Vernon," he muttered, though the sharpness in his tone had dulled a little. "Just remember that."

Vernon nodded, his heart thudding in his chest. He didn't know what the future held, but one thing was certain-he wasn't going anywhere.

Seungkwan, however, wasn't going to let him off the hook that easily. "Just because you are sticking around doesn't mean I'm going to start glowing or singing lullabies, got it?" He shot Vernon one last warning glance. "I am still going to be me. And you better be ready for that."

Vernon smiled, a flicker of hope sparking in his eyes. "I wouldn't want you any other way."

But even as Seungkwan walked away, a part of him felt the conflict brewing inside him. Deep down, he was starting to feel something for the baby, but he couldn't let Vernon see it. Not now, not when their relationship was still so strained.
