Jaehyun's POV

The first decisive move against the Park family had finally started today. The Bae family, the important shareholders, and other key allies stood united in their resolve to dismantle the Park family's grip on power. Jaehyun felt the weight of their collective decision as he returned home to Busan.

For the first time in what felt like ages, Jaehyun had a moment to himself. His family home welcomed him with warmth that Seoul never could. His mother and sister had embraced him the second he walked through the door, and the time they spent catching up felt like a balm to the pain of the past year.

They spoke about everything—his sister’s small victories, his mother’s worries, and their memories before things became complicated. The laughter, the smiles, the shared stories—it was as if the burdens he carried were lightened for a while. Jaehyun had missed them terribly. He realized how much time he’d sacrificed chasing both revenge and success.

But as much as he wanted to stay, his mind was already pulling him back to Seoul. He had to leave soon—there was too much at stake, and the next steps in their plan against the Park family required his presence.

He looked at his mother and sister, smiling, and a pang of guilt shot through him. “I wish I could stay longer, but there’s too much to do. Things are moving quickly now.”

His sister frowned, understanding but disappointed. “You’ve barely had time to rest, oppa. Can’t you stay just a little longer?”

He sighed, brushing her hair affectionately. “I’ll be back soon. I promise.”

His mind shifted back to the reason for his return to Seoul—the war against the Park family. He knew the Parks wouldn’t stay quiet for long. They were clever, ruthless, and always knew how to retaliate. But now, for the first time in years, the ball was in their court.

He had anticipated this move for months, knowing the Parks would react sharply once they felt cornered. Taeil, the Park family’s key strategist, was his main concern. Jaehyun had been keeping tabs on Taeil for a long time now. He understood the way the man thought, but that didn’t make him any less dangerous.

“I need to keep following Taeil,” Jaehyun muttered to himself, staring out the window. “The Parks are planning something—they always are. But this time, I’ll be ready.”

His phone buzzed with updates from his team in Seoul, reminding him that the fight had only just begun. He wasn’t doing this just for revenge. The company he had built in the past year was thriving, but it still needed protection from the Park family's reach. For Jaehyun, it was no longer just about getting even—it was about outsmarting them and ensuring they never recovered.

He exhaled slowly, letting the weight of responsibility settle back on his shoulders. As much as he cherished this time with his family, the war was far from over. And Jaehyun had no intention of losing.
